Youngkin ads repeatedly boasted about a Trump endorsement. McAullife ran ads about Youngkin being endorsed by Trump as being negative. That helped Youngkin big time.

TA also ran ads touting that he’d keep kids in masks. With 90% of the population wearing them, I thought that would hurt Youngkin.

"This election also portrays there wasn’t fraud in 2020."

There was fraud, and plenty of it, but it only required a combination of mail-in ballot fraud plus regular old-fashioned Democrat electoral schenanigans to produce 313,253 votes spread over 6 states. Probably required less than 1,000 people to accomplish it. Obama's Army.

The one place that would break it wide open, would be a special prosecution sweating those people involved in the election night full-on panic in Fulton County, GA.

Instead Mr. Polyurethane F. Stuffing has wasted innumerable resource$ and diverted precious time elsewhere.

I wonder what Youngkin’s anti-vote fraud strategy was?

An army of volunteer poll watchers.

If President Trump is stepping on his dick like you say he is it is because it is big.

Thats the point. Hes a great man/leader with a proportionately great ego and pride. The man sticks his foot in his mouth and boasts about stuff like "Youngkin would have lost weren't it for meeee." Hes got a talent for pointing out the obvious and this time...again...he shoulda just congratulated Youngkin and left it at that. The man has plenty of great things to say but he doesnt know when to shut up and he makes himself look like a self righteous ass...and by extension makes his supporters look the same.

You are right on the mark, TexasGurl24. Trump is wrong to try and take all credit for this because Youngkin owned this race and deserves all the credit. Trumps MAGA base came through but a ton of Independents and Dems responded to Glenn’s message and McAwful’s awfulness. Way to go, Virginia!

"This election also portrays there wasn’t fraud in 2020."

If the point you are making is that somehow the Deep State permitted Youngkin to win specifically to moot the Stolen Election of 2020 and take that argument away from Trump, I give you ...

“Why are some of you political “philosophers” so frosty towards this movement of US!! “

I think you misread my comment or replied to the wrong person.

I said: “Trump and his MAGA posse saw blood in the water and showed Youngkin the roadmap to victory.…there’s no doubt in my mind this was Trump and MAGA all the way.”

I’m giving ALL the credit for Youngkin’s victory to Trump and his MAGA movement (us).

President Trump is right. If not for MAGA and MAGA rallies, the masses would not have come out for Youngkin.

Any doubters can ask themselves;

"Did Youngkin's rallies look like MAGA rallies or Romney rallies?"

"Did Youngkin's ads look like MAGA ads or Romney ads?"

"Did the support of Youngkin on alternate media look like MAGA support or Romney support?"

President Trump has changed the landscape for the better and the non-RINO Republicans will do well to follow his approach.

“Without him the MAGA thing would not be. At this point, MAGA is bigger than Trump or any one person. God bless America!”

Hear, hear!

President Trump didn’t say without Trump he would’ve lost. He said, without MAGA.

Make America Great Again, is an ideology that is America First. Virginia Democrats tried to destroy this nation.

America First (MAGA) voters obviously disagreed with the Marxist Democrats anti-American ideology and voted accordingly.

I’m just pleasantly surprised that with all of the mail-in voting and ballot harvesting that Youngkin still won. Those are the kind of surprises I do like.

Surprise me more America, in the 2022 elections!

God Bless and protect this nation. Amen.

This seems to be a common theme in MAGA politicians. Rino’s of a different stripe, but still Rino’s, to the left of conservatism.

“I wonder what Youngkin’s anti-vote fraud strategy was?”

It was the Deep State. Very close to home and they don’t want Virginia to go all Marxist and stuff. They needed to repudiate the left and Virginia was the sacrificial lamb.

We all know this election could have been rigged to go for McAuful. It wasn’t and it sent a powerful message.

The last time McAuliffe ran, his opponent (Ken Cuccinelli, who was at the time a darling of the Tea Party movement) came within 2% of winning. McAuliffe ran a pretty bad campaign, insulting voters with a drumbeat “war on women” message rehashed from Obama’s reelection, but the GOP didn’t put effort into turnout because Cuccinelli wasn’t establishment enough.

I don’t really believe the party worked on turnout for Youngkin much either, but nowadays, it appears like that effect can be blunted with grassroots activism and social media.

“Reagan said that it didn't matter who got the credit as long as what he wanted to happen did in fact happen. I wish that Trump would take a lesson from this.” from Freee-dame

"Nothing Reagan did has survived." from CoadToad.

Reagan actually said, “There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the credit.”

This is a universal truth that came to mind immediately when I saw the headline for this thread. These days it takes only a moment to look up these quotes and not make slightly off kilter characterizations that are not nearly as good as the genuine article.

CodeToad, what Reagan did and said has not only survived... it forms a foundation of so much of what is still keeping our country going despite the awful actions of so many on the left.

Youngkin is more popular in Virginia than Trump, and Trump knows it.
This election wasn't about Youngkin. Nobody in Virginia knows anything about him. Down-ballot did as well or better than Youngkin, which means this was a huge Republican turnout, for which Trump can take much credit. Had he calmly walked away from the 2020 Steal there'd be less anger, less motivation driving voters to the right and the Republican Party itself would be less invigorated.

Check out how in Fairfax County the top of the ticket (Gov, Lt. Gov & AG) performed lower in 2021 from 2017 than did the bottom, at least as measured in a House of Delegates votes, which speaks for a general rebellion, not Youngkin himself:

YearGovLt GovAGDelegate Dist 34Delegate Dist 38
2017 31.15%32.64%32.68%39.53%26.26%
2021 34.79%34.75%34.45%43.49%31.12%

In 2017, Republicans didn't even challenge 9 Fairfax districts. In 2021, they had a candidate in every race.

Certainly Youngkin ran the right campaign, but the election wasn't about him, it's about an re-engaged Republican party, which has everything to do with Trump.

“Youngkin is more popular in Virginia than Trump, and Trump knows it.”

Only according to the left. The truth is quite a bit different.

Donald Trump in 2020: 1,962,430

Joe Biden in 2020: 2,413,568

Total: 4,375,998

Glenn Youngkin in 2021: 1,674,894

Terry McAuliffe in 2021: 1,603,300

Total: 3,278,194

What I want to know is where 1,097,804 VA voters went?

If we got some milquetoast Republican like Gillespie again, I may not have voted. Hard to tell since I voted for some really bad Republicans in the past. My position is the worst Republican is still better than the best democrat.
