Legos really are expensive. It’s common to see sets in Walmart for $70 and $120. I don’t know. Someone is buying them.

this is what the Seattle police considers a priority? record violent crime and murders in Seattle, and this is where they assign resources. OK.

They are building up to something. As Mr Floyd said “its another brick in the wall.” Sooner or later the bad guys are going to step on something and it’ll hurt them.

“KING COUNTY, Wash. — King County is again breaking records when it comes to gun violence. More people were shot and killed between January and September of this year than all of 2020, according to the Quarter 3 report from the King County prosecuting attorney’s office.

Gun violence is up nationwide, but for Seattle, the troubling uptick comes as the police department is dealing with major staffing troubles, and preparing for even more shortages once the vaccine mandate deadline comes.”

record murders, record gun violence, major police staffing problems - lets assign some officers to protect amazon’s profits.

I thought this was Babylon Bee. They have a tough time outdoing the non-satire sites.

During lockdown, my 20-something son bought several Lego sets with his Covid stimulus checks. (He was actually working more due to others leaving). I thought it was a waste of money (it showed up on our Amazon account), but he is an adult, never asks for anything....

I recall as a kid buying Lego kids way above his level figuring it would be something we could work on together.

As I lay in bed after the Christmas Holiday, he would have his Lego Star Wars Walker assembled at the age of six!

I’m just glad I have the several bins of Legos stashed away in the basement. His AND mine!

If Legos werent so doggone expensive, they might not have a theft problem.

I dont play with them myself but the dollar an ounce lego table at the local used media store has supplemented my kids collections greatly.

I see.

Shoplifting from a Target or Walgreens in Seattle, it’s ok.

Steal from Amazon (headquartered in Seattle), and you’re dead.

At those prices, I guess Legos aren’t made in China.

It was no snap decision. The detectives had to build their case piece by piece. Finally, everything clicked into place.

Bingo.

Priorities in Seattle. Also, the Guardian picked up on it? What, as some sort of “look at the weirdos out in Western US piddling about on such nonsense”?

Yes, theft is not trivial. But, Seattle is a western cesspool 2nd only to Portland. They defund the coppers and then do this?

Glad Seattle has everything else under control.

Of course, they could still work on their police response time because it’s over an hour in most situations...

But hey...they busted an evil store owner for selling stolen Legos.
