It seems for a lot of Americans, that short drive from home to office may no longer happen very often.
Nor might the family drive to grandma's.
Or a trip to a football or basketball game.
Instead they'll apparently walk to a train station, get on and ride, then walk from the train station to their destination.
It's because President Biden is going to take "literally, millions of automobiles" off the road.
His comments came this week while he was promoting his big-spending, big-government agenda, and were captured by CNS News.
The report explained that "in his mind," if he gets Congress to approve his multi-trillion dollar spending packages, much will be solved.
"When the almost-79-year-old president finally got around to the main point – explaining the two 'infrastructure' bills Democrats want to pass simultaneously – he returned to the topic of train travel, which in his mind will take 'millions' of cars off the road," the report said.
"Both these bills are going to help us meet the moment on the climate crisis in a way that creates good jobs, makes us more economically competitive – $66 billion in passenger rail and freight rail," Biden claimed. "Why (do) I always talk about passenger rail and particularly high-speed rail? You realize the Chinese are now building another high-speed rail line that will go up to 300 miles per hour? You say, what difference does that make, Biden?"
He went on, "Well, guess what? If you can get on a train and go from here to Washington much faster than you can go in an automobile, you take a train, you take the train. We will take, literally, millions of automobiles off the road – off the road,...

The nearest train station to my house is at least a 20 minute DRIVE.
Probably take all day to walk there.
Or ski in the winter.
Hmmm, maybe dog sled?
Nope, PETA would frown on that…..
You can’t win with the left.
They set up impossible to meet demands and then insist everyone do it. Everyone but them, because they are special. They are our betters, dontcha know?
Many years ago, the state went to great expense to take out all kinds of old railroad tracks and bridges because they were unnecessary. They allegedly weren’t being used any more.
As a result, rail travel was severely restricted and now they want us to depend on it.
It’s all about controlling the masses and making us stay put.
Joe will be riding in the locked memory car at the rear of the train.
66 billion to disappear up Biteme’s and Pelousey’s ass.
Seems like this piece would be right up his alley.
I’d use a train instead of driving to go visit family in New York but in my case, I’d take a train from midstate NH that would take 14 hours to Penn Station to get on another train to head north on the other side of the Hudson for another 6 hours. The train could go 3000 miles per hour. It’s all of those pesky little stops to pick up and drop off passengers that slow you down.
His mind is like a runaway train heading for the dust bin of history.
“Is there any actual proof that we humans are affecting the climate?”
Sir David Attenborough, the English broadcaster, natural historian and author said so, but that’s still not enough for me...with all due respect of course, because I think he really believes it and I wouldn’t want to be one to try to talk him out of it.
During the latter part of the last century, thousands of miles of railways and rights of way were abandoned or converted to other uses. How to deal with the short fall of resources.
How does he get to Deleware?? And that happens almost every week.
So are they going to remove all the road pavement and plant squash?
Even in places where trains actually make sense - BosWash corridor - they’ll *never* get it right because for one thing it would have already happened by now and for another thing any gubmint project is doomed from this start (see #1).
But watch them try to fotce choo choo trains where they make zero sense.
No cars. No commutes. All the little places that provide for commuters will die. Oh, and no commutes, not offices open.
Will the UAW need to learn to code?
When cars are outlawed, only ELITES (and OUTLAWS) will have cars!
The auto industry has been taking their money and now its payback time, the price of gasoline will be out of reach and ez pass will monitor your mileage
I have a small yard and so far, the EGO has held up where two gas powered mowers have blown up.
That’s about all the electric I care for.
Niche item.
What do you do, Brandon, when you get off the train? You get a taxi! You get a taxi! That’s a car, Brandon!
White Christians will be provided trains.
Remember everyone, this is not Biden at work here. He just the dummy. He’s not pulling the strings.
Boxcar Willy?
