Shipping costs are surging around the globe, causing the price of sending a container from Asia to the West Coast to increase many times over.
When Donald Trump was president in 2020, the price to ship a container from Asia to California was $3,800. That price spiked to $17,000 in October of 2021, according to supply chain technology company Freightos.

Thank you slo joe...
“The Biden Plan is working.”
- Joe Biden
Let’s Go Brandon, you need to pull out the standard leftist solution to make the problem worse ... use tax dollars to subsidize shipping costs.
It’s a small price to pay to keep millions of children off the unemployment lines in China.
This could actually become a good thing, if it’s too expensive to ship from China to the US, the that opens up manufacturing opportunities here................
That was my thought as well. China’s almost going to have to sell the stuff to us at a loss just to get us to buy it
I watched a California wine producer on the news yesterday complaining about his Chinese cardboard boxes doubling in price, as I sit here not five miles away from an American packaging company that produces cardboard boxes for local vineyards as well as for Amazon…
Well, the silver lining in all this is that inflated shipping costs are a de facto tarriff, and if they get high enough, it may bring some manufacturing back home.
Weren’t they already doing that to destroy strategic industries of ours?
I’m sure the leftists are already planning on how to regulate American manufacturing and transportation so that China will still have competitive prices, even if prices increase by 10 times. They will blame it on the “greedy” American producers.
Last night in Boston right outside of Fenway Park the Fox Sports 1 crew was doing the post game wrap up. The crowd was chanting F#&k Joe Biden and they had signs that said Lets Go Brandon.
We have gone so globalist that we have forgotten that there is competition among DOMESTIC producers of goods too? This keeps prices in check.
The cost increases are transitory, just effecting the high life.
Surprising things coming out of cities. Yesterday I saw a video of the same thing as fans left a Rangers game in NY. I am hoping the message gets interpreted by professional athletes as fans won't tolerate their leftist politics and they need to keep their mouths shut.
Would like to understand this a little better. $3800 to $17000 in one year? Thats almost 450% increase. What would drive that type of increase? We have increases in costs going on all around and with fuel prices 30%-50% up and food prices climbing, I could understand a similar increase in shipping costs. But 450%? Need more information.
Joe’s slogan should be Build my Bank Account Back Better
