Ohio college student 'angry' and 'scared' after 'cisgender men' installed radiator in dorms: 'Safe space'

A student at Oberlin College in Ohio described being "scared" and "angry" after the school announced a work crew would be installing radiators in a "safe space" dormitory for women and trans students, explaining the crew would likely be "cisgender men."

"I was angry, scared, and confused. Why didn’t the College complete the installation over the summer, when the building was empty? Why couldn’t they tell us precisely when the workers would be there? Why were they only notifying us the day before the installation was due to begin?" Oberlin student Peter Fray-Witzer wrote in an op-ed published in the college newspaper on Friday.

The student said he grew concerned because he had not heard of the installation plans before a school email was sent on Oct. 7. He explained that the crew would likely be cisgender men entering Baldwin Cottage, which is home to a "safe space" for "women and transgendered persons."

What’s more unsettling to this story, for me, is that there are “men” amongst us (and who vote) that not only are not embarrassed to behave this way but consider it as cred.

This is a tactic of LGBTQ activists and sympathizers. They assign labels to what is considered normal and has been normal for millions of years. The label is supposed to imply that there is no such thing as normal and that everyone belongs to some group, with some groups being larger than other groups. Normal people thus became "straight" people as opposed to gay. Normal people are now "cisgendered" as opposed to transgendered. Normal culture is "hetero-normative" , and so forth. The Left want to eliminate any such notion of 'normal' because normal by definition is bigoted.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics used to make it easy to see how job categories break down between males and females. I guess now that there are 34 genders it's too hard to have useful stats that don't trigger someone so it's not there (or easy to find) anymore. Anyway, what it used to show was this:

• Men make up roughly 85% of Engineering and IT jobs
• Men make up roughly 95% of construction jobs
• Man make up over 95% of installation and maintenance jobs
• Men make up 78% of production and transport jobs
• Men make up 95% of firefighters, 86% of cops, 93% of landscapers, etc

If she wants to live in a world where men are not around then she wants to live in a dystopia where nothing gets built, nothing gets serviced, nothing gets repaired and the entire place begins to rot and crumble very quickly.

But she doesn't want that. She wants men to do all this stuff. Just in secret, out of her view. Like good servants.

In the real world, women deal with repairmen coming into their homes, and there are no guarantees about how safe these men are. What makes college students so special? Perhaps there should be a mandatory maturity test before people are allowed into the halls of higher learning.
