BOURNE — Bourne School Committee member Kari MacRae says she was fired from her new teaching position at Hanover High School over her social media posts.
She remains on the committee despite calls for her resignation. She has said she won't resign.
MacRae said in an interview Tuesday she is seeking legal recourse after her position as a business teacher at Hanover High was terminated Sept. 29.
“I got fired specifically for a social media post I made," she said. "That’s a violation of free speech.”
MacRae said Hanover High School Principal Matthew Mattos told her in a letter, which she read to a Times reporter, “that continuing your employment in light of your social media posts would have a significant negative impact on student learning at HHS.”

You have Constitutional rights only if and when the Powerful People choose to grant them to you.
No, it’s not supposed to work that way. But it’s the 21st century.
My goodness.... That is a great statement.
What’s wrong with that?
Hope this lady gets a very mean lawyer to “legally” tackled her former supervisor.
Thanks for posting the source.
If the right was anything like the left, they would be paying a visit to the goons who fired her.
Instead, half of the people who agree with her will probably agree with her firing because she wasn’t following the goon’s rules.
That is they way most conservatives roll. They will complain about the rules while helping enforce them.
This time next year: “School board, say hello to your new Superintendent of Schools, Kari MacRae.”
In this country, the Left has several agendas, and they are intolerant of you questioning them. The left has become the very thing we liberal hippies protested against in the 1970’s. They are arrogant, controlling authoritarians, bigots and narcissists
Here is the offending media post.
Oh the horror! Burn her at the new woke Salem witch trials.
I am 100% on board with every single thing she said in that video.
Everything. And she didn't say it in a derogatory way. She was very reasoned, calm, and logical.
Wow.
And this is the thing that cuts right to the heart of all this cancel crap:
It is bad enough that it is an attack on freedom of speech alone. What makes this cancel crap even more egregious is the use of it as a tool, exploited at need by simply changing the criteria for canceling someone at any time, without any warning, so that the crime is created on demand rather than committed.
That is a known weakness of conservatives, and it is mercilessly and cynically exploited by the Left.
It is one of the fundamental ways that they stole the 2020 election.
They are fully aware that conservatives are law-and-order types. It is why the US form of government was designed for people like us, but not them: We as conservatives respect and even revere the framework of a Constitutional Republic that is ostensibly run by laws, and not by people.
The Left knows this. And they know full well that committing illegality and wrongdoing can be cloaked in a cynical garment of legality.
In the case of the election, they fully knew that if they could delay and drag out investigations, legal actions, and parliamentary actions until after each "deadline" (such as certifying electors) had passed, that it would further insulate the illegality and wrongdoing because conservatives would be in a quandary about whether to follow the rules or to break/ignore the rules.
In a rational world, the "rules" should have been broken and ignored, because the illegality should have nullified them, but they gambled that we wouldn't go down that road, and they won that gamble.
Bump
she should’ve hit a MAGA guy in the head with a bike lock and she’d be OK ...
Social media claims another one.
I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, at all, but there is some virtue in avoiding conflict - if you think you can take actions that will prevent the problem from arising in the future.
Which is why we conservatives all have an obligation to get involved with the election process in 2022 and 2024, and call out the fraud as it happens, before the fraudulent votes are counted.
Insightful analysis. Thank you.
“That’s a violation of free speech”
Silly woman. There is no free speech in the USA.

It should be apparent by now that that’s a loser position. The 2020 fraud WAS called out before and as it was happening, Loudly. We’re you here in the US then? I don’t know how you could have missed it. Many here, and Trump himself was shouting it from the top of the trees.
How did that work out?
Until the goons who fired her are gone......... America isn’t
What community is that?
