Users reported having issues accessing Facebook apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Facebook itself on the website Downdetector, which tracks outages and issues across various websites and services.
The issues began around 11:45 a.m. ET on Monday, according to user reports on Downdetector. They appeared to affect users in many countries around the world.
In a tweet addressing the outage, Facebook said, "We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience."
Instagram also addressed the outage on Twitter, saying, "Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we're on it! #instagramdown"
In a tweet shortly after the surge in outage reports, WhatsApp said, "We're aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We're working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!"

No big loss.
It looks like their IPv6 DNS servers are down.
Hopefully, Permanently.
PINKY & THE BRAIN have succeeded with the plan ...... awesome !
“some people are experiencing” Right, not people all over the world.
Probably doing a mass scan or back up of some sort. Reorganizing the real database.
Hopefully they were hacked by someone who knows what they are doing and can make it stick. Facebook, which started out way-back-when as a fun and convenient diversion, has become a scourge upon the earth.
Yes Facebook is a pain.
But I LOVE Facebook in terms of keeping up with what my family and friends are doing all over the country.
Plus I can’t play any games on my computer but the games do work on my Ipad via Itunes.
It’s been down now for two hours.
This is no coincidence.
My family would never use GAB or Parler although these are perfectly fine substitutes.
But if no one tells me what’s going on their lives, provides me pictures of events, etc., etc.,.....what fun is that?

Widespread digital attack
Whistleblower...information ticked off one country to many.
Yeah, I’m permanently banned from Facebook and have no more contact with many friends anymore.
I don’t know what my crime was ... all they said is I’m not compatible with their Community Standards. I think truth is not allowed on there.
This site can’t be reached
Check if there is a typo in www.facebook.com.
Try: www.fussbook.com.mie
It smells better, already.
Family may be more inclined to other tech, as FB/Inst/Whats are done for day after day, as I suspect and hope is the case.
IMHO, Telegram is the way to go.
People jumping off high rise buildings yet?
Me too.....I live in the US but have many friends in Europe. Facebook is a good way to keep in touch.
Bttt.

As a Luddite I say Hooray.
What I don’t understand is how the respectable TV and radio shows everywhere say “We’re on Facebook.” “Find the other articles by this author on her Facebook page.” “Check out our other information available on Facebook.”
I always think of them as consorting with deviants, thieves, procurers and kidnapper types when they mention “Facebook.”
And all under the censorship control of prissy leftist nerds.
No thank you. Until I have to someday.
