"We searched the reference list of included studies, and of two other 2021 literature reviews on ivermectin,9 as well as the recent WHO report, which included analyses of ivermectin."

Adds up to significant findings of benefit from ivermectin treatments. includes numerous “randomized clinical trials.” Any serious investigator would be obliged to accept these findings and proceed accordingly.

The conclusion: “Moderate-certainty evidence finds that large reductions in COVID-19 deaths are possible using ivermectin. Using ivermectin early in the clinical course may reduce numbers progressing to severe disease. The apparent safety and low cost suggest that ivermectin is likely to have a significant impact on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic globally.”

Low cost seems to be the big problem with Ivermectin.

To all the quack doctors and quack medical professionals out there:

Ivermectin is cheap compared to other prophylaxis.

I paid $5/per 18mg capsule, picked it up at my pharmacy today.

It isn’t a slam-dunk, and I personally believe it should be used in addition to vaccination.

I want everything thrown at this pandemic. I also follow the can’t-hurt-might-help protocol of vitamin D, zinc, and even humming to increase nasal nitric oxide: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7239502/

Why not?

Will the NY Times report this?

I doubt it.

Low cost and the fear that it will discourage people from getting vaccinated.

Like this bizarre bulletin from Australia: https://www.covid19treatmentguidelines.nih.gov/therapies/antiviral-therapy/ivermectin/

Great article!

"Meta-analysis of 15 trials, assessing 2438 participants, found that ivermectin reduced the risk of death by an average of 62% (95% CI 27%–81%) compared with no ivermectin treatment"

I’ve said from the beginning that there is no money in HCQ or Ivermectin or other protocols that could work and was shown to be successful anecdotally. There was far to much pushback against it. I wonder how many people could have benefited from vigorous, widespread use.

Search for Uttar Pradesh here on FR. .0006% positivity rate vs Kerala with 20%. The diff? Both vaccinate, but Uttar is something like 50% behind Kerala on vaxes. Uttar uses invermectin to both treat and as a prophylaxis for people who tested positive’s contacts and family.

.0006% vs Kerala’s 20%. Uttar is 2/3rds the size of the US with 200 million people. Not some small sample. Kerala is big too with about 40 million. Kerala uses the expensive remdisavir to treat the hospitalized and shuns invermectin. Uttar throws invermectin at the first symptoms and at the potentially infected by the one who tests positive to prevent infection.

.0006% vs 20%

If someone dismisses these numbers they are stupid, evil, and a complete and utter liar.

Did you read the report from Australia? Fluffy nonsense.

Again, I am pro-vax. But I’m also pro monoclonal antibody treatment and pro-whatever might help and won’t hurt.

I don’t think people should be dosing themselves with horse paste, but doctors should be able to prescribe the meds when they have peer-reviewed studies to support.

Ivermectin prophylaxis versus no ivermectin prophylaxis
Three studies involving 738 participants evaluated ivermectin for COVID-19 prophylaxis among health care workers and COVID-19 contacts. Meta-analysis of these 3 trials, assessing 738 participants, found that ivermectin prophylaxis among health care workers and COVID-19 contacts probably reduces the risk of COVID-19 infection by an average of 86% (79%–91%) (3 trials, 738 participants; aRR 0.14, 95% CI 0.09–0.21; 5.0% vs. 29.6% contracted COVID-19, respectively; low-certainty evidence; downgraded due to study design limitations and few included trials) (Figure 15). In 2 trials involving 538 participants, no severe adverse events were recorded (SoF Table 4).

Why not?

Because the vax won't prevent the covid, won't keep you from being a spreader, but might kill you?

pro-whatever might help and won’t hurt.- ccc

Have you looked at the side effects and Vaers database of severe and deadly results from the vaccine?

The mRNA vaccines are responsible for more than 1/2 of all the deaths in the last 10 years of vaccination for all vaccines.

Huge problem, no?
