Broward will be giving county employees who get COVID-19 vaccines a $500 payment, while those who remain unvaccinated could face a bi-weekly surcharge and weekly testing, Mayor Steve Geller said Wednesday.

I don’t think DeSantis is going to go for this, either. Broward County is one of the most corrupt places in the state (remember the election hijinks with the Bush elections) and is full Dem.

What a sick world we live in, where one’s life is valued at a petty 500 dollars (minus whatever the IRS demands of it come JAN 2022).

I am going toss this out there, but companies putting a lot of the cost of testing on employees seems to illegal.
Much of the “physicals” our company did for the guys was for the safety of them and to protect our liability down the line.
Physical to assure one was healthy enough to work in our hazardous environment.
Was able to wear a mask or respirator, PPE up to level 3, etc.
The company paid for all the testing.
Offered flu vaccines...but the company paid for it.
If you were trained for Bloodborne Pathogen detail, you were screened and required to get appropriate vaccinations if you didn’t already have them. The company paid for training, screening, and vax.
It has always been on the employer to provide the medical screening as needed along with whatever medical was required for the job.
People need to start lawyering up! It is the only way we can get this hysteria to stop. And that is what it is, hysteria. If the government and employers cannot recognize that after 19 months of lockdowns, propaganda, etc. that they have induced a mass psychosis that is way out of hand, we need to take extreme measures to get it back under control like a cold slap in the face.
And the only ways to do that are to hold:
*worker walkout/strike
*lawyers
*Filing with the Equal Employment state commissions
Right now it will start as a trickle and seem daunting. But it is the only way to break the psychosis of fear. And unfortunately we have federal leaders right now playing on and preying on that fear.
Example: I want to test an employee for drugs/alcohol. Under the FLSA I have to pay for that test and the time it took to get the test if mandated by the employer.
If these companies are “mandating” this stuff, then they need to belly up to the bar and be made to pay for it. They want twice weekly testing? OK, send the employee to the testing site, employer pays both for the test and the time the employee takes to get the test.
This is about the consistent application of the law and employees not knowing their full rights.
