President Joe Biden extended an eviction moratorium already deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, so it would come as little surprise that President Norms would ignore the law going forward with his imperiled presidency. But Biden's latest blow in his campaign against the coronavirus isn't just a legal mess destined for endless court challenges; it's a logistical nightmare with little likelihood of doing anything other than further tightening the labor market and inflaming the sentiments of the vaccine-hesitant.

Evidence out of Israel is that 40%-60% of the people in the ICU are fully vaxxed. The UK reported a similar number earlier this summer. Since that is a percentage and not a raw number it is hard to tell what it means except that they either don’t work as well as hoped, or not for as long as hoped, or maybe this is that missing 10% in the “90% effective”.
But what it does suggest is that the vaccines are not all the same (Pfizer in Israel, mostly AstraZeneca in the UK) and that they don’t work as well, or as long, as others might. They were talking up boosters since before they sold the first vial so they knew these things were dicey in some ways. Pfizer said this week they intentionally made theirs “weaker” because of side-effect issues but I’d argue it was because the mRNA vaccines never worked in previous tests. In any case, this is from the maker of the only “approved” vaccine!
A one-size fits all, just run out and get jabbed with anything, is a mistake. We should have more data not less. We should have more options not less. And there are still a few honorable people out there - witness the top 2 at the FDA vaccines & biologics division quit in protest over boosters. They know something’s not right. They just aren’t very eager to share what they know.
I work at Wal-Mart. Last week called into office to ask if we had our shot. My preferred answer was “prefer not to say”.
My direct manager now has covid and I am the only one he told. He got yelled at for telling me.
I asked a interim manager about his situation, as we were working together the nite before and she said she couldn’t discuss because of hippa.
Last years rules were you were sent home to get tested if you were seen on camera with person and to quarantine with pay for 10 days. Dont know new rules.
She stated that was about 4 rules ago. LOL.
We shall see what happens next.
The proposed rule was reported as either (1) get the jab or (2) be tested weekly. Employers are not going to like to pay to staff, administer, report weekly tests.
If just 5 - 10% of workers were forced in a short span of time to be laid off at my company, the impact would be devastating. Multiply this by the size of the US and we are looking at an economy pointing to depression.
I stopped answering my door for strangers after I angered a signature-seeking GenZ anti-fracking canvasser when I said “I love fracking...it means an end to wars for oil.”

The only folks clapping their hands in glee over this latest presidential bullshit are labor lawyers and undertakers.
The population most suspicious of the vaccine is black.
And Biden is going to war against them.

I was fired yesterday for refusing to get the vaccine. This should make finding my next role even harder.
