I believe that initially it was all about intentionally crashing the US economy as a means of defeating President Trump. They knew they'd need industrial quantities of voter fraud, the scam-demic was just to bring a fraudulent victory within almost reasonable striking distance.
The power grabs and freedom-stomping enabled by the 24x7 fear mongering worked beyond their wildest dreams. They will never give up these powers willingly. We are going to have to take back our freedoms and liberties. Take them back. They will not be given back to us.

The reason they won't lay a finger on Antifa or BLM is because they are ordered NOT to. However, when it's real middle class Americans the crackdown will be merciless.
That worn rubric of the “Thin blue line protecting the public from chaos” will soon be put to the test here in the USA as well. Those who wear the uniform and carry the shield as well as those who care for them are going to have to make a decision which very well may be existential for many citizens.
