Here's my conspiracy theory: Biden's idiotic rapid withdrawal out of Afghanistan is just a plot to get the Military back in and remain there forever as a way to continue feeding the Military Industrial Complex. That is the only explanation to me that makes sense and the only one that explains why so many generals would do something all their years of training and experience would tell them otherwise.
Do not discount the possibility that these people in this “Administration” are stupid amateurs who just wanted “Orange Man gone” and had not a clue what to do after that.
What do you expect the military leaders to do, when their Commander in Chief gives them orders contrary to the good advice they no doubt provided him?

Well my take is a little off center from yours. I think Bidens’ plan was entirely ridiculous but these career losers weren’t going to buck the CIC and risk losing their cush jobs and pensions. They figured if they let this play out, Biden would be forced to do a major build up in Afghanistan just to keep if from the collapse we see now. They figured this was a win win for them.
Many of the cabinet have served in positions before, so they aren’t inexperienced. They are driving a Marxist agenda and are actively trying to destroy the country in order to rebuild it as a Communist state. They need to purge the military of non-believers, fill the streets with Communist paramilitary troopers, then stage their Reichstag Fire. They tried to use Jan 6th as the fire, but that didn’t stick.
The Joint Chiefs advise the President on options to take, capabilities that can be deployed, and achievable timetables, etc. They definitely had a large hand to play in how all of this worked out.

They gave away Bagram Air Base for Chinese use. The military is not going back in any force after that debacle. The top brass need firing squads. ... Well, courts martial first, then firing squads.
I think they believe if they court the Taliban then they can make them an ally. The Obama Doctrine if you will. It sounds juvenile typing it but I think that’s where they’re at mentally.

I can just see the back benchers at these meetings looking at each other and raising eyebrows. The books that will be written about this will be scary in how bad he is.
