Storm halts We Love NYC Homecoming Concert mid-Barry Manilow performance

New York City’s “Homecoming” concert at Central Park was abruptly halted in the middle of Barry Manilow’s performance Saturday evening — as lightning storms tied to approaching Hurricane Henri descended on the Big Apple.
Concertgoers were told at 7:37 p.m. to “proceed to your vehicles and protected areas outside of the event center” as Manilow was singing his 1978 hit “Can’t Smile Without You.”

Elliott Lurie of Looking Glass still sings “Brandy (You’re a fine girl) in LA clubs occasionally. He went on to head MGM music. He took the name from some crazed hippie chick who wasn’t impressed that he wrote a song about her and changed her into a barroom waitress. Magnificent song. Far better than that “Mandy” thing.

Not just drug stores, also liquor/convenience stores where lowlifes congregated. They also played elevator Muzak and both actually worked. Don't know why they stopped...may be the vandalism from gangs. Or maybe some didn't stop. Haven't heard in years.
