MSNBC talking heads have compared the Republican Party to the Taliban because of the GOP's opposition to abortion, a comparison that has drawn outrage from veterans and pro-life leaders.
Network columnist Dean Obeidallah argued in a Wednesday article that pro-life Republicans who criticize the Taliban's mistreatment of women are hypocritical. Joy Reid, a primetime host on MSNBC, has for months drawn the comparison and once referred to GOP pro-life efforts as "Talibanism."
Rep. Mike Waltz (R., Fla.), who as a Green Beret fought against the Taliban in Afghanistan, said he found the comparison insulting and rooted in ignorance.
"I've witnessed the brutality of the Taliban as they fired machine guns on girls in schools, executed children as young as seven, and many other horrific acts," Waltz told the Washington Free Beacon. "They are brutal thugs with a completely warped sense of morality. They don't hesitate to use civilians as human shields. They execute innocent people with impunity. And they have no sense of what freedom is."
The liberal talking point has emerged as the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in response to the withdrawal of U.S. troops in the region. A top staffer to failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D.) shared a tweet Tuesday from a senior writer for The Root that called the American Revolution the "US jihad" and compared the American government to the Taliban. The staffer later removed the retweet after a Free Beacon inquiry.

It’s worked in the past when equating the GOP and white conservatives as Nazis. The education system in this country has guaranteed a majority will take these comments as the truth.
Actually the comparison is more accurate for the Left - abortion is the slaughter of innocent children.
One stupid thing after another from MSNBC - and yes, they can always come up with something even more stupid.
And the American people label the journalist worse than the Taliban! Look at their poll numbers... they are in the - scale numbers of favorability and trust worthy! That is pretty bad.
The vast majority of Americans do not watch MSNBC or CNN or Fox News. Americans know better. Those that believe this tripe need to be treated accordingly.
The media has been perfecting this sort of thing for years. They know that the Taliban wants to promote 7th century style traditional Islam. Muslim armies conquering the world for Allah. The ideology goes back 15 centuries. As the media likes to say: these are CONSERVATIVE Muslims.
You know: like Rush Limbaugh or Donald Trump ...

They can feel the fear when they have Lindsay Graham, Susan Collins and Mitt Romney staring down at them. Frightening.
And with George Will and William Kristol ready to pounce, too. Not to mention a certain Turtle with a sharp beak.
Can we point out the fact that both the commies and the Taliban want to confiscate guns?

“The Democrats are the real Taliban” is actually not the correct way to respond to this. I can’t wait for Conservative Inc. to break that out.
Pubs are more like afghan refugees and the dims are more like the Taliban.
When the Taliban (dims) show up ..the afghans (pubs) run.
Exactly, most of the elected GOP are nothing more than Assistant Democrats.
They just proved that again in spades by passing the Trojan horse bill to pave the way for the country killing reconciliation.
