Gov. DeSantis "As of today, the Camping World Stadium in Orlando will serve as a monoclonal antibody treatment site, open 7 days a week, with a capacity of 320 patients a day.
Expanding access to this treatment will help our most vulnerable stay out of the hospital and save lives."
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has unveiled a set of monoclonal antibody centers to help in the battle against surging COVID-19 cases in the state.
In a statement on Thursday, DeSantis shared the state has opened a monoclonal antibody center in Jacksonville, saying that state officials will explore adding other long-term locations outside of Jacksonville.
A monoclonal antibody is a treatment that can help prevent the COVID-19 virus from attaching to host human cells. Medical workers can provide this treatment to patients who are 12 years or older, according to the news release.
“Monoclonal antibody treatments such as Regeneron have had a major impact in preventing hospitalizations & saved lives,” DeSantis wrote in a tweet. “We are utilizing monoclonal antibody strike teams to bring treatment directly to our vulnerable populations in long-term care facilities.”

Claims that migrants are spreading COVID-19 a 'distraction,' NIH... New York orders health care workers to be vaccinated
The new measure comes as Florida has become the epicenter of the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the U.S., as the highly contagious delta variant is hitting the unvaccinated hard.
DeSantis has been an opponent of creating new COVID restrictions and is butting heads with state school districts over implementing mask mandates for children.
According to John Hopkins University data, 51 percent of Floridians are fully vaccinated.
THE HILL
Let me fix this:
“as the highly contagious delta variant is hitting the unvaccinated hard.”
It should read: “As the highly contagious wave of illegals crossing the southern border is hitting the unvaccinated hard.”
ProActive! I love it!
Fixed it, more ;-)
Nice! Go Ron! 😎
Great move by America’s Governor.......wish he would announce next that the state is giving out free supplies of HCQ and Ivermectin as well.
This guy is amazing. Saving his floridians lives like no one else in the US.
Yep!
Treatments? I don’t think those are allowed. Vaccines, masks, and venTilaTorSSSS (Thank God Cuomo is going!) are the only things allowed. No treatments are possible because SCIENCE.
BTTT!
DeSantis for President in 2024.
Yes, he’s great! They announced this program in Jax a couple of days ago. I think we will have (or already have) two centers. The nice thing is that people don’t have to be referred by a doctor. If they have the symptoms and are confirmed at the center to actually have covid, they can begin the treatment.
As with everything, starting early is best, and this certainly speeds it up and makes it available pretty broadly.
This is a huge step. Someone here barely got the treatment in time due to red tape and misinformation
Whatever happened to convalescent plasma; not pricey enough?
I think so.
Great idea
In my immediate family of nine in two separate households who contracted Covid within the last 30 days or so, the vaccinated were hit the most.
Indeed.
I will NOT take “health orders” seriously unless and until Buy-Dung takes BORDERS seriously.
Isn’t this the state where a criminal democrat senator had to resign? Don’t they have the votes now to the force the Subpoena and arrest people who ignore it?
Tested positive 7/22.
Called several Urgent Care centers in town that were part of Sarasota Memorial on 7/24 and they all were wishy washy on taking Covid positive patients and referred to ER.
I go to ER on 7/25 8:20pm and they discharge me at 3:20am 7/26 and discharge papers had no mention of any prescriptions even though I requested something for my horrible violent cough, but it mentioned possible out patient monoclonal treatment if I qualify and would be contacted by nurse practitioner. No one called by 10am, (no nurse ever called me even days later) so I started calling all day until the afternoon and finally got someone from the hospital that had info on the treatment for me.
2 days later after much frustration and phone calls all day long, I finally got scheduled for treatment on 7/28 and ironically the infusion was done at one of the very same urgent center they told me not to come to with COVID, I was trying to get into 4 days prior. The Regeneron-COV treatment helped a lot, but wish I could have gotten it sooner, without having that intermediate hospital visit.
