Insurgents tightened grip on Afghanistan by capturing Mazar-e-Sharif - a heavily defended city in the north
Fighters were then filmed raiding the luxurious home of infamous warlord Army Marshal Rashid Dostum
In a statement last night, US President Joe Biden blamed Donald Trump and the Afghan army for the carnage
He said he 'will not pass this war onto a fifth president' and criticsed the Afghan Army for failing to fight
Taliban fighters have invaded the palatial home of top Afghan warlord and US ally and videoed themselves lounging on his gold furniture and inspecting his golden tea set - as their advance closes on capital Kabul amid a scramble to get Westerners out.
General Rashid Dostum's home is in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif which fell to the Taliban yesterday and now there are claims that the advancing fighters have reached the outskirts of Kabul.
Dostum was a key US ally during the 20 year campaign against the Taliban and famously fought with the Special Forces 'horse soldiers' shortly after 9/11.
...In a statement last night, Biden blamed Donald Trump and the Afghan army for the carnage and said his predecessor cut a deal that left the warlords 'in the strongest position militarily since 2001'.
He said: One more year, or five more years, of US military presence would not have made a difference if the Afghan military cannot or will not hold its own country.

It’s going to be hilarious when the Chinese releases all the Top Secret data, and who the Pentagon bribed, that they find...
Do you suppose embassy staff members were tasked with evacuating the rainbow flags ahead of the confidential/secret/top-secret files on our friends in country?
(Sure would be a shame to see those flags get desecrated) /sarc off
i’ve read that also. tarring afghan fighters, taking any female over 12 for ‘wives’, woman’s eyes gouged out in front of her family for being educated, the whole prehistoric culture again
““There are casualties and fatalities among ANDSF,” Afghan journalist Bilal Sarwary reported. “A number of soldiers who fought and were taken captive by the Taliban were later on executed, eyes gouged. Photos shared with me are too grotesque and graphic to share.””

I suppose we will have to give refuge to all the Afghan people that fought with us???
Biden in an emergency cabinet meeting: “Generals? Generals? I thought you said genitals. See, I some right here...”
Good point F’ck them. We should nuke it or leave it.
The other answer is to arm, train the women. Keep 1/4 sycronized on the rag. That would terrorize any ant country.
Deep State ineptitude at its most efficient!
Remind me what happened to to inept Roman generals who brought back news of their catastrophic failures...
Something about being given the chance to open their veins?
We can always learn from history.

> Now he is sending 5,000 brave young American soldiers and Marines ostensibly to aid in the evacuation of the embassy and other Americans. The reality is that these troops are now a garrison for Kabul.
Don’t know about that. But if the Taliban believe that to be the plan, they should be rushing to take the Kabul Airport ASAP.
I don’t think all of that equipment was left accidentally. The left wants to arm Islamic terrorists and the evacuation gives cover for doing just that.

Yes and whatshername... oh yeah, Liz Cheney.
(Chamberlain knew war was coming and that Britain was not prepared for it. After his "Wave the piece of paper" speech, he called his ministers into a meeting and told them to prepare for war. IOW he took one for Western Civilization.)
Joe ain't fit to do his laundry.
Yes and Bret Baier too, just a little bit more diplomatically than Cavuto. Don’t forget that asshole.
Chamberlain was inept, or at least purposely appeared to e to demonstrate how Britain exhausted all diplomatic avenues to avoid a terrible war.
He ordered Britian’s industry and manufacturers to begin making war material.
“Likely our people in the embassy all voted for Biden and have confidence in his leadership ability.”
Yea, they didn’t want a dangerous and incompetent person like Trump running the country for another 4 years. Thankfully that’s not the case now.
By the way, I hope they’re paid up on their ‘Evacuation Insurance’ as they’ll likely have to making claims soon.
Abandoning Bagram AFB in the dark of night, with no notice to the ANA, so that we now have no way to stage and fly tactical missions into and out of A-stan, other than from Kabul Int’l Airport (now jammed full of evacuees and civilian refugees.)
If we still had Bagram, we could use it to handle tactical fighters and troop transports, enough to keep the Taliban at bay until we evacuated Kabul. Taking off, reloading and landing at Bagram, ins
tead of hours and hours away. Without Bagram AFB, we are reduced to flying tactical missions from very long range. This gives the Taliban an immense OODA loop advantage. The Taliban now has local air assets (ex Russian Hips, ex U.S. Blackhawks), artillery up to 155mm howitzers, etc. This means they can move troops and artillery around much faster than we can respond with air missions from approx. 1,000 miles away.
Now, the Taliban can shut down Kabul Intl’ anytime they choose, using local forces under their control. We are 100% at their mercy. A total debacle. Every general involved should be busted to private and then fired without a pension.
Or shot.
