The Air Force said Tuesday it will allow airmen to wear morale patches on certain days, put hands in their pockets, and to tattoo their scalps as part of an upcoming revision to dress and appearance standards.
The changes, as well as several others, are expected to take effect in early October when the service plans to release an update to Instruction 36-2903, Dress and Appearance of Air Force Personnel.
The relaxed dress rules also will increase the length of hair allowed for men from the current 2 inches to 2.5 inches, and will allow women to wear 2-inch hair accessories, instead of the maximum 1-inch accessories now allowed.

After I retired out in 1999, I was a contractor with the AF for another dozen years. You could tell...year by year, they were getting to the bottom of the bucket on recruitment.
One day (2005), I walked into the office next to mine....the IT support ‘kids’ (all were 19 to 21 years old). Three of the young ladies were discussing their mood enhancements drugs (they were getting these at age 15/16, and the AF agreed to continue this prescription business). All three were convinced that they had depression and anxiety issues. None of the three could handle a stress situation where a decision had to be made on the spot. I’ve often wondered how the three fared in life, and what group of young people were recruited and brought in after them.
Based on this article, I’d say recruitment is now at the rocket bottom. Beards will probably be authorized within four years, and gang symbiology will become acceptable.

The Air Force said it plans to drop that language to give commanders and airmen the flexibility to adopt whatever rules work best for their units.
That takes the uniformity out of the uniform. How are NCOs and officers supposed to maintain discipline if each commander has their own set of rules?

Another possibility is that they want to drive out dedicated USA-loving types and replace them with tattooed soy boys dykes and gangstas for the express purpose of making the military weak.
