Biden administration launches plans to combat inflation

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) — The White House is remaining optimistic and Republicans are sounding the alarm after U.S. consumer prices rose yet again in July, according to federal data.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says the consumer price index for all urban consumers has increased 5.4% over the last year and inflation was up for the third month in a row.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday announce that his administration is taking new steps to lower prices at the pump and the grocery store. Biden said his plan will “crack down on what some major players are doing in the economy that are keeping prices higher than they need be” and “put more money in your pocket.”

One aspect of the inflation, he said, is supply chain bottlenecks. He said he’s working to fix that.

“Bringing together port operators, shipping lines and the labor unions … to speed up the ports’ operation,” he said.

Sounds about right.

Prep while you can. I do believe they’re doing everything they can to collapse the US.

What a joke!

They are spending money at historic rates and everyone knows that money will be gone and washed four months from now. They’ll claim they have no clue where it went.

The Dem Cities are encouraged to keep throwing money away, as the middle America keeps bailing them out.

This is the price of electing an incompetent boob that’s never had a real job in his life.

The Senate is a bunch of fools that think it’s their (play) money.

There’s nothing to stop Taxes and Inflation from going up.

Too bad we don't make stuff here.

This sounds like the third world: “Bringing together port operators, shipping lines and the labor unions … to speed up the ports’ operation,” he said."

Thanks Free Traitors™ FOR NOTHING.

I remember the WIN pins as well. I also remember, back when groceries had little price stickers, the little stack that would develop as the store would keep increasing the price on a particular item before it was bought. With barcode pricing I think it’s likely that a goodly number of our slow witted brothers and sisters won’t catch in to the slow rathcheting up of prices that is going to occur

This is like trying to let the air out of a golf ball.

Meanwhile the budget deficits are skyrocketing and the Fed is issuing credit to .gov by the trillions.

This is like trying to play golf by hitting your playing partner in the head with a driver.

And the poor old nag died of a heart attack just as she was leaving the barn.

Now we have no horse, no barn, no feed...just smoldering ruins of a once-great civilization.

God Damn them all to Hell.

Keep paying people not to work and stop any evictions results with staff shortages throughout our economy. Such shortages raise supply pipeline costs. Businesses have to pay far higher wages. This is just injecting socialism from the President’s desk - he’s just bypassing Congress and they’re letting him do it, under the excuse of COVID.

There’s jobs everywhere with available workers unwilling to work. Then Congress wants to spend like drunken soldiers which will LOOK like it helps, like your first shot of heroin - only to become dependent on it until collapse.

Take from the higher earners and giver it to the lazy. It gets the young vote every time. Over time you just end up with fewer willing to do what it takes to be a high earner, while more and more lower end workers see that doing less or nothing gives them the same standard of living - a downward spiral.

To me, this is what socialism is - among the varieties of definitions. It can never work long term but the D’s use it to the max for short term power. It’s truly evil, it deprives people of better. Not everybody will take advantage of their opportunities so, by design, make it harder for anyone to succeed. If some students can’t do Calculus then no student shall do Calculus. Sound familiar? Lower all boats.

This, open borders, CRT, even requiring the military to all take COVID shots, as recruitment will probably plummet, is all designed to weaken us to the point of being able to break us.

And we’re letting it happen.

It wouldn’t be so bad if the $1.2 trillion “infrastructure” bill was actually spent on building things that would improve the nation and its productivity. But almost NONE of it is to be spent on infrastructure. It’s all Democrat wet dream stuff and payoffs to cronies.

...and stealing all of their lifetime accumulated capital gains by dumping the basis step-up. Then by taxing unrealized gains on your capital gains — you will have to pay tax on your illusory gain before selling the asset. If the asset price goes down — So Sorry, Charlie!

This Government is so FUBARed that it just beggars disbelief. Especially because we have a brief four year respite from this intentional destruction of the USA.

Thank God we re-fi’d earlier this year at 2.5%, no points, no costs. Too bad it’s not assumable. That would have really been the icing on the cake.

Like Keystone XL. Like ANWR. Like offshore leases. Like leases on federal lands. Like permitting offshore rigs. Like permitting refinery refurbishment and construction. Like expanded exploration.

But those are all things that Trump did, so they must be ended.

You think there would be no inflation if we made more things here? You’re dreaming.

I just got off the phone with a roofing contractor who can’t even get started on his backlog of commercial jobs because his suppliers — all U.S. companies producing their roofing materials here in the U.S. — are telling him they can’t fill his orders until NEXT MARCH.
