Heck, someone has enough sense to prepare for the next Russian invasion.

Agree. The tank would be too much upkeep. The 88 would be almost as useful although you might need a Ford 350 dually.

This guy is sitting on a gold mine. Rusted out blown up panzer V panther hulls are worth HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars pulled out of a swamp. I think he’s got 10mm in that tank before looking at engine, gun, and optics. If the engine can fire up and the optics aren’t cracked....20 million. There is a HUGE market for german armor in last 10-15 years. Hell, schwimmaggens have gone from 50k to over 250k . Kettenkraftrads....tens of thousands to over 100k.

LOTS of money in german armor. Some collectors pay a crap load of money for rusted up scrap.

Not long ago, someone posted a pic of a 1941-era Stuart (located in Australia) that was in running condition and going cheeeap! Somewhere on the range of $15K...?

Why is it missing the treads?

I seem to recall that's the condition it was in when he got it in Britain. I don't think you can go on Ebay and buy a set of Panther tracks. I'm guessing if I was the new owner, I would need to have someone cast new tracks.

Lack of ammunition has long decommissioned those weapons.

I'm pretty certain they (88s) were still in use during the Yugoslavian war back in the '90s.

A lot of the German generals just want to carbon-copy Russia’s T-34 with maybe some small improvements. The Panther was supposed to be that tank, but the engineers wouldn’t turn it loose until they redesigned it. Good for us as it stayed tied up development for longer than it had to be!

The German panzershreck was designed and developed after examining captured US bazookas.

The country of Germany allows permission for a German citizen to own up to two firearms. The ‘permission’ can be rescinded for minor offenses and the firearms may never be reinstated to the rightful owner. Germany. It’s another country altogether. They have their own laws and shit...I think an AA gun and tank likely violate the existing German laws...

Sure I get it, their country their rules but what the Germans are doing seems vindictive to the old guy when this situation could so easily be a win/win.

Verry clever, haha!

Thanks!

They even made a WWII movie about the three tigers:

Tora! Tora! Tora!

A Tiger has only one weak point.

That’s its @ss.

You’ve got to hit it point blank and you’ve got to hit it from behind.

We don’t have the element of surprise.

>>>

What if I can show you a way to get into that town so they don’t hear you?

Matthew 21:4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

It’s a weird little world out there! :)

*chuckle* Imagine being this guy’s neighbor. You’re just sitting there, reading the newspaper, when you hear the belch and roar of a big engine, and your house starts shaking. Then you look out the window and see your neighbor backing a Panzer out of his garage. Yeah, my first reaction might be to dial 911, too. LOL
