Social justice movements are fantastic at making issues worse than they were to begin with, which is becoming the unfortunate case in Portland, Oregon.
The Portland Police Bureau's Focused Initiative Team has been able to garner the interest of only four law enforcement officials to fill the 14 slots needed to have a fully functioning unit, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Homicides are on the rise in the liberal city, with gun violence being the main cause.
Fifty-three people have been killed so far this year, the second-highest on record, as 1987 saw 70 homicides, according to the report Monday.
The unit used to be called the Gun Violence Reduction Team, but that was dissolved last year amid calls to defund and even abolish the police.

Liberal are having to face reality — the consequences of their actions. To turn this around they will also have to accept accountability and ditch their woke beliefs. No sign of that yet. Let them continue to experience the utopia they created.
Portland didn’t just vote themselves into 3rd world status, they went out and marched for it. The stupid in Portland is so thick they are proud of it.

Gun violence???…seems like it is People Violence to me and mostly liberal blue ballers…defund the police and everybody will be happy peaceful fun loving human beings…

You can live half a mile outside Portland city and Multnomah county, and crime drops by about 95%. I’m looking in Milwaukie, OR, where crime is a minor fraction of Portland.

The coming CW will be against the cities.
The major effort will be spent keeping them in the cities.
But they believe they can have their cake and eat it , too. What kind of mental deficiency thinks there are no consequences for bad behavior?
If it’s against cities, that war will be over inside a week. Cutoff highways (no food/goods/fuel), sabotage electric, water, gas and it’s over.
We immediately and overwhelming agreed that the folks from Portland, Oregon were a little "off", weird.
I think it was determined that they can just fill in the empty positions with more social workers. Problem solved!

What REAL man would join an outfit with that name? Give me a break! How about something like “Counter Violence Strike Force” or “Special Criminal Eradication Unit”?

Milwaukie isn’t bad. Canby is pretty good! (Just moved from there in February, but nice place to live. Small town feel, much less crime that Portland proper)
