Republicans have many reasons to be hopeful about the 2022 midterm elections. After all, the president’s party tends to lose seats in midterms, and the Democrats have been overreaching worse than Alexander the Great in India. However, conservatives cannot get too cocky. While the headwinds do favor the GOP in 2022, there are a few potential pitfalls that could derail the anticipated repeat of 1994.
First, however, I’ll cover the reasons for hope — and there are many. The Washington Examiner‘s Jim Antle laid out many of them in a recent column, and I’d just add a few more.
Yes, the Democrats maintained their majority in the House of Representatives in 2020 and won a razor-thin majority in the U.S. Senate last December. Democrats have 220 seats in the House to Republicans’ 211 and they have 50 seats (plus one, with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking ties) in the Senate.
Democrats have not been acting like they have close majorities, however. Instead, they’ve been attempting to ram an extremely radical agenda down the throats of Americans, using exaggerated rhetoric to demonize their opponents.
Much of the debate in Congress has boiled down to whether or not Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) will destroy the tradition of the Senate and abolish the filibuster for major pieces of legislation.
Just last year, Democrats used the filibuster to stop the Republican police reform bill. They realized the filibuster’s importance when it comes to protecting the rights of the minority. Now, they compare it to Jim Crow laws. The American people are not fooled.
In 2020, many state election officials weakened election integrity protections in order to accommodate more voting during a pandemic.

The drop in violent crime that began in the 1990s appears to have ended. Homicides are spiking in major cities.

That is always the case, as no one can predict what will happen next month, much less next year. Remember, when the Trump economy was going to roll over the Democrats? Then came COVID. So, don’t just wait for good luck, prepare, and make it happen!

As long as there are Dominion Machines, Soros owned Secretaries of State and County Clerks, widespread vote-by-mail, illegal aliens and dead people allowed to vote, any Republican / conservative who is optimistic about the next election is a fool.
This is especially true since the RATs are trying to sneak in Nationalizing Elections into the Reconciliation bill. They get that and it's game over

How about dumb people, as well? Unfortunately our youth are dangerously undereducated. Many, like the BLM people, are irrational. They comprise at least half the Democrat voters, if not our national population.

Assume the GOP wins a majority in both houses of Congress in 2022. With McConnell controlling the Senate and McCarthy overseeing the House as speaker, how is governance going to be different than it was from January 2017 to January 2019 when we had Majority Leader McConnell and Speaker Paul Ryan?
Lest we forget we had Republican majorities in the House and Senate the last two years of Obama’s term - Majority leader McConnell and Speaker Ryan. How effective was the GOP opposition to Obama? Why will it be any better with Joe Biden in the oval office?
With moderates controlling the GOP leadership, there will be no change, only accommodation.

There is nothing short of nailing the doors of polling places and arresting registered Democrat/communists that the Republicans can do.
