The Conservative Case for Cyberbullying America’s Generals
The American Mind ^ | July 26, 2021 | Josiah Lippincott

Posted on 07/27/2021 4:45:51 AM PDT by Scarpetta

America deserves better than its current military leadership.

On July 22, Major General Patrick Donahoe, the Commanding General of Fort Benning, reported from his official Twitter account that he was seeing a “surge” in ICU visits among young soldiers due to Covid. He reported that he would mandate the vaccine if he had the power to do so.

Snip

Treating healthy people like biohazards over an illness that has killed two dozen personnel in a force of millions is insane.

My interaction with the General serves as a microcosm of the American military’s cultural rot. Here we have a two-star General who spends his days on social media hyping a vaccine for an illness that poses minimal risk to his troops. When pressed on why America can’t win wars and why he embraces policies that treat healthy people like biohazards, his first response is to accuse his critics of treachery and then block them from view.

This is what $693 billion a year buys you: unbridled arrogance from the leaders of a military that can’t win against third world tribesmen armed with small arms and homemade explosives. A significant portion of our military leaders, like General Donahoe, are totally detached from reality. They face no consequences for losing wars or losing troops to preventable suicides. Many of them don’t really command anything at all. They are so ensconced in layers of bureaucrats, staff, operations and logistics shops, briefs, intelligence reports, public affairs officials, and aides that there is usually no danger of the public uncovering their true character, lack of leadership, or empty careers.

The author of this piece is an exceptional young man. The audacity of General Donahoe is breathtaking.

No one should throw lives away needlessly -- but risks can never be perfectly mitigated. If the military is panicking over this virus, then we cannot fight a war. In a war, someone might get hurt. And we can't handle that.

You cut out the best part of the article, where the author relates his Twitter spat with the General.

Everyone should go to the site and read that part, the “General” comes off sounding like an insecure teenager who can’t take any criticism!

The whole piece is an eyeopener for those of us who want to believe that our military leadership is apolitical and mature.

My only child arrived for basic training at Fort Benning just this week.

It reminds me of many recent movies where some millennial-age snot is portraying a ‘general’ in the military.

Watching some young kid in a totally unbelievable role makes you wonder how they think military is supposed to rise up in ranks.

Is it the usual liberal way of kissing a$$ to get ahead?

I’ve been a contractor for 30 years- I’ve seen it in every location I’ve gone- when some libtard get into a position of management they start removing conservatives and only hire like-minded.

The military used to be led by WARRIORS such as Geo Patton, Douglas MacArthur and Curtis LeMay. They understood war and what needed to be done to win.

Today’s “Generals” are nothing but politicians in uniform and are more interested in kissing the ass of anyone who can further their sad careers.

Does anyone here really think that our virtual defeat in Afghanistan is the fault of our generals - and not instead attributable to our lack of willingness to go "all in?"

It is not our generals who lay down the namby-pamby "Rules of Engagement" that tie the hands of our troops in the theatre. It is due to the reluctance of our political leadership to achieve victory "by any means necessary." And their spinelessness is entirely the fault of the American electorate.

Regards,

He may not be able to force vaccinate yet but he can certainly ruin anybody not vaccinated’s career.

-——to our lack of willingness to go “all in?”——

Exactly.

The way to “win” is simple. Kill them all... bearded men, masked wives and all kids. Extermination is the only way to combat zealotry. (progressive zealots take note)

There are some cooler Taliban heads but they seem unable to entirely prevail.

I felt so good about my son joining the army, but that was when Trump was president.

My son Harry doesn’t want the vax but that may be the least of his worries under the current faux administration.

Tried to watch a cheap sci-fi movie a few months ago. It was dreadful, shot in a cave to save on production costs I presume. I tried to stick with it but when the commander showed up wearing major general stars AND master sergeant chevrons I changed the channel. There should be a law that any movie which includes depictions of military personnel should have someone with military experience on the production staff.

Everyone going into the military gets innoculated for several diseases. I don’t remember there being a choice.

As for the anti-vaxxer sentiment here, that movement is rooted in bunko faith healers and lunatic religious fanatics that make up their follower.

BTW, the military won every battle in places like Vietnam and Afghanistan. The defeatist policies come from politicians and the electorate.

The U.S. has generals who act like petulant teenage girls wasting their time on social media. What could go wrong.

This has been the case for some time. When leftists that are more concerned about equity and social this or that run things they no longer are able to win. It seems everyone needs to get a participation trophy, including the enemy. Priority one is winning. That means killing the enemy without losing our soldiers lives and limbs. That can be accomplished quickly without losing our treasure. However, that requires focus on and solving real problems, not imaginary problems of the left.

You would think a two star general has better things to do than arguing on Twitter. Fire him for deriliction of duty.

Military personnel get shots based on where they are deployed. I’m not an antivaxer. My kid got all of his shots including meningitis and hepatitis A and B. Anti Covid vaxers and antivaxers in general are two different things.

All we have left is leftists because ALL of our elected and appointed swore in a half-foreigner in direct violation of the Constitution.

Something Thomas Paine said could not happen because we had the natural born citizen clause.

He could not have foreseen this much corruption.
