The National Security Agency has reportedly conducted an internal investigation which found that the National Security Agency did nothing wrong when surveilling the communications of Fox News host Tucker Carlson. The NSA did admit that Carlson’s identity was “unmasked” by unidentified government officials, according to The Record.
The Record reported on Friday that “two people familiar with the matter” told the publication that the Fox News host’s communications “were not targeted – as the NSA has previously stated publicly – nor intercepted through so-called ‘incidental collection,'” though the agency reportedly found that “Carlson was mentioned in communications between third parties and his name was subsequently revealed through ‘unmasking,’ a process in which relevant government officials can request the identities of American citizens in intelligence reports to be divulged provided there is an official reason,” confirming Carlson’s allegations that he had been unmasked.
A Fox News spokesperson stated in response to the story, “For the NSA to unmask Tucker Carlson or any journalist attempting to secure a newsworthy interview is entirely unacceptable and raises serious questions about their activities as well as their original denial, which was wildly misleading.”
The news has already been made the subject of derision by NSA critics, who point out the irony in an agency accused of illegal agency finding themselves not guilty of said illegal activity through an internal investigation.
As National File previously reported, Carlson was made aware that the government was reading his private communications by a government whistleblower:
“Yesterday we heard from a whistleblower within the U.S. government who reached out to warn us that the NSA, the National Security Agency, is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take this show off the air,” Carlson stated...

Snowden is a hero, need more people like him at the NSA.
What’s really funny is the idiots in the “Mainstream Media” derided Tucker for even suggesting this.
Now the NSA confirms it.
Further proof the rest of the media are the Handmaidens of the Democrat Party.
I believe Tucker Carlson investigated himself and concluded the NSA did do something wrong when spying on him.
OJ is looking for the real killers.
The NSA is a huge military asset to us. Think of it as an enormous MACHINE. The NSA rank and file are some of the best from our military. There are thousands of contractors too, mostly former military. Admiral Mike Rogers is a hero who wouldn’t let political interests have access.
The NSA MACHINE records EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING. Perfectly legal because a MACHINE is doing it. Any HUMAN using the NSA apparatus for domestic surveillance must have a PROPER WARRANT.
When certain political interests needed opposition research, the gold standard of intelligence was the NSA.
How to get access to the NSA machine? FISA Warrant via Chief Justice, John Roberts.
The NSA patriots did NOT spy on Americans illegally.
Those abusing access were spying, the NSA HUMANS were not spying on their own authority. For example, if Comey got a FISA Warrant for his FBI, NSA personnel would carry out Comey’s warrant instructions but Adm. Mike Rogers would find the FISA warrants were bogus. He got in the way and Obama’s people wanted to fire him. So he went to President-Elect Trump and told him his enemies were using the NSA apparatus to spy on him. He took a huge risk. Understand there were dozens of assassination attempts on Trump, his enemies wanted to use the advanced technology of the NSA to set a trap.
What happened over decades is that NSA technology and capability became so enormously advanced and effective that they rendered traditional Intel agencies obsolete including the CIA.
The CIA became globalist because investment Banks (central bankers) went globalist. CIA and their contractors became the enforcement security service for global banks.
CIA was tied to big banks because that’s where the money was.
NSA was tied to military because that’s where the intel was.
Snowden was CIA. CIA was lagging behind NSA. Snowden was discharged into Booz-Allen (a spook body shop) and brought from there into NSA.
Snowden’s mission was to steal as many NSA tools as possible for the CIA which was run by people like Brennan.
Snowden’s story that the criminal NSA was illegally spying was part of the script to smear NSA military leaders like Adm. Rogers.
Snowden was and is a real snake.
The NSA is on our side but maybe not for long because Biden is sending Thomas Zimmerman into the NSA to identify patriots and throw them out.
If we lose the NSA, we are in a world of hurt.
Hopefully, this gives you a different perspective of what’s going on with the NSA.
No. #6
The NSA probably isn’t who revealed his name, and spread his emails or whatever happened. I imagine someone in the White House or another Department did this.
The NSA is lying. It leaked to the press the exact e-mails that were received and sent by Carlson. NSA is covering someone who should be charged with a felony.
Is that spittle on your chin?
Surprise! It seems to never be illegal when the criminal democrat government does it.
The NSA revealed Carlson’s name. They had to. They were in possession of his e-mails. Let me assure you that other agencies have to jump through hoops to declassify the name or names of individuals obtained through an NSA intercept (which are always classified). The approval to declassify the name comes through the NSA itself, and after (supposedly) receiving a strict in-house review.
This isn’t The Babylon Bee??????
So you are saying that the utility of the incredibly intrusive surveillance performed “by the machines” of the NSA justify its existence, despite the ease and speed with which it can be misused?
Is this not a variation of the “I only have to outrun YOU” argument?
Or is it more the “If you’re doing nothing wrong you have no reason not to allow the police to search your car”, though there is no probable cause argument?
Constitutional violations are just that, and the NSA is flagrantly violating the most basic law of the land.
And you support that. On a Conservative, Constitutionalist site.
No kidding. I read the title, looked at the source, NationalFile, read the title again, hovered over the title to show the url. It's not the bee, it's real, holy crap.
damn, thought it was the Onion...
There needs to be a neutral party who can objectively judge whether any wrongdoing was done. It would have to be somebody with the appropriate clearances. Maybe...the NSA!
Did the story street at the Bee?
If only there were a government agency that investigated crimes, we could clear this all up.
