Mississippi asks the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade

CNN — Mississippi's attorney general told the Supreme Court on Thursday that Roe v. Wade was "egregiously wrong" and should be overturned as she urged the justices to allow a controversial law that bars most abortions after 15 weeks to go into effect.

"The conclusion that abortion is a constitutional right has no basis in text, structure, history, or tradition" state Attorney General Lynn Fitch told the justices in a new brief, launching the opening salvo in the most important abortion-related dispute the court has heard in decades.

Fitch said that the case for overruling Roe is "overwhelming."

Roe v. Wade is the 1973 landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion nationwide prior to viability, which can occur at around 24 weeks of pregnancy.

~snip~

The justices deliberated for months whether to take up the Mississippi dispute, finally announcing their decision last spring and sending shock waves to groups supporting abortion rights who are fearful that the conservative majority -- bolstered with three of President Donald Trump's appointees -- will upend long-established constitutional protections for access to abortion.

Oral arguments will likely be heard in the late fall or early winter with a decision expected by next June in advance of the midterm elections.

“Fitch said that the case for overruling Roe is “overwhelming.”

Absolutely true.

If argued on the merits, it fails 6-3.

Stare decisis is another matter.

Harry Blackman and the seven other justices violated the 10th Amendment to the Constitution with the Roe vx Wade Ruling.

10th AMENDMENT

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The 11th Amendment also blocked them.

11TH AMENDMENT

The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State.

If you are to adhere to either Amendment, Roe vs Wade goes down.

Adhere to the Constitution or acknowledge that you are not.

If you are not, then acknowledge that you are a rebel and accept the consequences. These are the facts, take it or leave it.

And the SCOTUS once was comprised of less than the present nine. One day that changed. It will probably change in a big hurry if Roe is overturned, because they fear the mid-terms will be a massacre. OK. Damn the torpedoes. Full speed ahead. Baby killers must be stopped.

Democrats need to read the 10th amendment more carefully.

Quite a few Democrats at the Pearly Gates having trouble justifying their actions; particularly Biden and Hillary. Can you hear St. Peter asking them "What about all those unborn CHILDREN??" and them saying "What Children?" and him raising a finger pointing away.

Then them screaming "We gave Homosexuals and Transgenders their RIGHTS" and him raising the finger away once more.

Then as they are being led to the Lake of Fire while muttering "We are Virtuous, God is so UNFAIR!" and God replying from His Throne of Justice:

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,

I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."

“They also will answer, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?""

“He will reply, ""Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of THE LEAST OF THESE, you did not do for me.""

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

They will wish they had Believed Upon the Lord Jesus Christ and were SAVED, rather than to face that Lake!! They still can repent, but the time is short, and the repentance be public and vociferous, I would imagine!!

It's time to stop concerning ourselves with the Supreme Kangaroo court. It's a joke. Just ban it at the state level. Other states will follow.

If states can legalize marijuana then states should also be able to ban abortions. Both are ignoring federal law.

You are right.

States need to follow the Constitution first the Constitution supersedes the dictates of the Supreme Court.

States need to ban abortion without waiting for the Supreme Court.

Stare decisis is the false claim that precedents set by Supreme Court rulings supersede the original precedent:

The Constitution.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that a woman has a “Constitutional Right” to kill her unborn child.

After all these years of aborticide on demand, it would take courage for the Supremes to overturn Roe v. Wade. 'Courage' is something that Roberts lacks. In point of fact, don't his judicial robes contain a yellow stripe down the back? I don't know of any surgeons who might perform a 'spine insertion' on him, as he would not be interested.
