San Diegans beg city to curb violence by homeless: 'like you’re in the 'Walking Dead''

San Diegans are asking police and city officials to do more to control random attacks by homeless people in parts of the city.

"Walking through America’s Finest City shouldn’t feel like you’re in ‘The Walking Dead,’" resident Aislinn Fava told NBC San Diego.

Fava hasn’t made it beyond the sidewalk of her apartment building alone since a homeless man attacked her three weeks ago. He reportedly punched her in the back of the head while she ran an errand to pick up a smoothie, and was then hit again as the man attempted to steal her purse.

The suspect, Giovanni Moore, was arrested and is facing battery and robbery charges.

"I used to feel kind of invincible," Fava said. "And I felt really safe in San Diego and never thought anything like this could happen. Ever. And that completely changed on that day."

The incident comes amid an increase in violent attacks in recent weeks, with the mayor saying homelessness has also spiked in the last year.

The San Diego Police Department couldn't immediately provide statistics on how many violent crimes involve homeless people.

"We have an uptick in violent crime in general," said Mayor Todd Gloria, a Democrat. "And being homeless is not a crime, but being homeless is not a get-out-of-jail-free card either.

"A lot of that has to do with the fact that during the pandemic we had to enforce social distancing rules in our homeless shelters," he added. "That meant that literally hundreds of our beds have not been able to be occupied."

Fava and other victims of violent attacks are asking city officials to do more to protect the public.

If a homeless person starts beating on you, beat on them back.

Then get a delousing before going home.

I often wonder how it is, that we didn’t see mobs of homeless people in 1960 or 1970. But today every big city has big numbers of homeless, and some neighborhoods have big numbers.

And I wonder how it is, that apparently decisions have been made to tolerate the mobs in certain neighborhoods, but not other neighborhoods.

But mostly I wonder, why are we as a society, unwilling or unable to handle this, when it seems that we had a handle on these issues decades ago.

Or did we not have a handle on these issues decades ago, but were able to incarcerate people for vagrancy and other offenses years ago?

Anyway, it is out of control, and government officials and political leaders in city after city seemingly have no control over this.

I keep telling folks, this is all by design.

The breakdown of the social contract, civil disorder, skyrocketing crime, it's all part of the Great Reset.

The global elites hate law-abiding citizens who want to be left alone. They would love to get all the spoils and land while confining everyone else into filthy metropolitan areas.

Unfortunately people are more worried about what the Kardashians are wearing.

We closed the mental institutions. Also, drugs were not as prevalent in the 60s and 70s. Drug addiction has skyrocketted. Even if we had never closed the mental institutions, the high rates of drug addiction would probably mean we would have more homeless today than back then because there simply could not be enough institutions to house them all. Not by a long shot.

Why is drug addiction so widespread? That, I don’t know. Has something to do with modern culture, lower morals over all, break up of the nuclear family, etc. I don’t know for sure.

The 20-something year olds of the 1980s...got into cocaine/crack....then had kids. As adults and parents....they were lousy parents, and the kids are now 30 to 40 years old....are products of that lousy generation.

There’s a great series on YouTube called ‘Soft White Underbelly’ where the moderator interviews homeless from LA. Lot of insight...various dynamics of poor parents skills that lead to the kid being ‘losers’ later in life. Fixing this is practically impossible...too many of them.

I do feel bad for the sane people living there. The ones that don’t vote Dim. The rest, can honestly go pound sand.

Singapore has an interesting way of dealing with this problem. A shopkeeper there told me that in 1965, one in ten of them was drug addict. Today, one in ten of them is a millionaire.

San Diegans are asking police and city officials to do more to control random attacks by homeless people in parts of the city.

If the media and city officials tell you an attack is random, there's a less than 50% chance that it is random.

Not only over this, but over just about everything.

I sent an email earlier to friends in Christ, in response to another FR post this morning, The Capitol Cover Up,
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3976846/posts, with what is the root problem:

Why isn’t SOMEONE in the leadership of our country doing anything about this evil?
Everyone who knows what’s going on wants to know why most of our country’s leadership, from cities to states to the feds, are letting it go on, without acknowledgment or comment to the people.
The answer is that if there is no God in our lives, there is no Truth and no Way and no Life in our lives; we are dead in our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1-10).

Evil has permeated our “leadership” and our country’s people beyond our wildest imaginations. Remember the Lord Jesus’ words to His disciples in Luke 18:1-8.
And in v. 8, the word translated faith is literally is the faith.

The woman in the article who calls running out for a smoothie and errand likely did vote for the dimmocrat government.

If you have to ‘ask the police’ to do the right thing, you’ve got a much bigger problem than the original complaint.
