This scumbag got off easy. Instead of waiting for sentencing in jail he was under house arrest at a friends house. Because of COVID . This is the claim. As a loyal propaganda solider we all know the real reason he is getting the soft glove treatent.

The Democrats and CNN might be wanting him out in time to run for President.

Remember he resurfaced during the Kavanaugh circus, after he became famous with Stormy Daniels? And his client allegedly had damaging information? But somehow that was never revealed.

Lawyers do this stuff on a daily basis. A majority of cases are settled this way.
Pay this much now, or it could cost you 10 times as much later.
I am glad this slimeball is going to prison, but he’s not the first lawyer to do this.
All this media attention went to his head.
CNN: “Ooooohhh...Mr. Avanneti you’re so presidential... Tell us more about how awful Trump is...”

Just in time to run for POTUS in 2024.
Or maybe CNN will hire him back as an analyst, since he should have a little more experience by then.

Instead of waiting for sentencing in jail he was under house arrest at a friends house.
I'd guess had he awaited sentencing from jail, he'd have gotten credit for that time served against his sentence, so time spent incarcerated would have been the same. So he was just prolonging the inevitable I suppose. Also, I don't believe any time he spent on house arrest qualifies for jail-time credit, so to me that actually ends up increasing his punishment further than had he simply awaited sentencing from jail.
If this is federal, I think he can earn 54 days per year "good time" credit which would rack up to 135 days early release. So I'm guessing he'll do 26 months or so (unless he bashes somebody over the head with his food tray or gets caught smuggling in a pack of smokes).

He must have doublecrossed the wrong people in the democratic party. For a while he was their choice for president, now he’s in the pokie so he obviously pissed off the kingmakers. It must not have been Bill or Hillary Clinton, he hasn’t been suicided yet. It must have been someone a little less dangerous.

Conservative defendants receive sentences within sentencing guidelines while liberal defendants receive sentences well below those guidelines.
WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

Always surprised me how quickly he was indicted.
