Eric Adams wins New York City mayoral primary © Getty Images Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams has won the New York City Democratic mayoral primary, setting himself up as the overwhelming favorite to win the general election in November.

The Associated Press called the race for Adams shortly after the latest batch of results in the ranked-choice primary were released on Tuesday afternoon.

Adams, a former police captain who entered primary voting as the frontrunner, bested a crowded field of Democrats, including former New York City Sanitation Commissioner Kathryn Garcia, former presidential candidate Andrew Yang and civil rights lawyer Maya Wiley.

Adams will face off against GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa, the founder of the Guardian Angels.

Just before the race was called, Adams said in a statement that “while there are still some very small amounts of votes to be counted, the results are clear: an historic, diverse, five-borough coalition led by working-class New Yorkers has led us to victory in the Democratic primary for Mayor of New York City.”

I think he’s very much to the left. I do not believe he has changed, but I think he may be less corrupt. He could be instrumental in cleaning up some departments.

A bloody festering boil would be better than DeBlasio.

Sliwa, sadly, has no chance to win in the stinking cesspool called NY city.

He’s better than DeBlasio, a tapeworm would be. He’s still a leftie but he ran on crime being out of control, so it will be interesting to see what he does about it.

To answer your question - he cannot possibly be worse!

I remember Eric Adams from back in the day. He founded 100 Black in Law Enforcement.

I think my brother met him a few times. My brother was gay and for a while got involved at the perifery of Dem politics. The absolute gay perifery. But I think he knew Major Owens (another Black Brookly Pol) and I think it was through that connection that he met Adams a couple of times.

My brother never said anyting bad about him, and knowing my brother that was a high complimenet, because if he’d’ve thought he was a big phoney he would have said so.

Good luck Eric Adams, you’re gonna need it! And may G-d guide you every day. My vote would go to Sliwa if I had one, but I’m glad Adams beat the intended steal (guess that wasn’t polling well) and if elected I hope he does a GOOD JOB. Which is actually pretty easy, everything they are doing now, stop it and do the opposite. Call it the Costanza method.

They thought better of going through with stealing the nomination on the eve of the Maricopa County audit release.

I believe that for the corruption to flourish, you have to have workers and tourists who are not afraid to be in new york sh*tty. Otherwise, the money won’t flow.
