House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Tuesday he is fine with legislation that would remove the Confederate statues that stand in the U.S. Capitol.
During a speech on the House floor, McCarthy addressed his support for a resolution that would remove Confederate statues from the Capitol, saying all the statues are of Democrats and that the party should consider changing its name.
“The bill we’re voting on today we’ve voted on before. I supported it [then] and I support it now. But let me state a simple fact: All of the statues being removed by this bill are statues of Democrats,” McCarthy said.

They’re wiping out their own history so they can re-write it, blaming Republicans for slavery. Anyone with any sense can see this coming.

What’s a little of our culture? This is the man who worthlessly stood by as the most popular president in history was erased.

It would be much better if they could get rid of all the current defacrats in there, and haul all of them off to the junkyard.
To: JonPreston
It is good to keep pointing out that the statutes are Dems but explain they want to take them down to hide that fact.

SCHAUDENFREd Democrat Pelosi wants 11 Confederate statues removed from Capitol ...https://www.rollcall.com › 2020/06/10
Pelosi is calling for the removal of 11 Confederate statues in Congress’ National Statuary Hall Collection.
Democrat Black Caucus members are also backing legislation that would remove the Confederate statues that stand in the U.S. Capitol.......
......problem is all the Democrats’ offensive statues are of slave-holding Democrats........ and other slavery promoters.

Cute response, but it is still an attempt by leftists to erase our nation’s history and that is WRONG.
That is correct. I am from Connecticut, and several of the main streets are named after judges hiding in Connecticut for executing Charles I under Cromwell. The cave where they hid is a tourist destination, and these regicidal judges are honored by plaques, etc. There is also a town named Cromwell in Connecticut. I have no use for the three judges and certainly none for Cromwell, but I would not dream of changing their name, nor of requiring planets (or cars) named after pagan gods to be renamed. It is part of our history, and part of our civilization. My one exception might be that the victims of Mao and Stalin have every right to take down statues of them, even though they are certainly historical figures. It is astonishing that Stalin and Mao weren't read out as Hitler was . . . Stalin was half-heartedly done somewhat, and Mao not at all.

...and they will stop with statues of Democrats. They would NEVER go after statues of Republicans. Nope, never.
In the end, the only statues remaining standing will be of Saints Marx, Engels, Mao, Trayvon and Fentanyl.

What an ignorant comment - but McCarthy may well have picked it up from the ignorant FReepers who are constantly making that same ignorant comment.
