The woke Left’s long march through our institutions of higher learning has reached an astronomy course at Cornell University.
Astro 2034 “Black Holes: Race and the Cosmos” introduces “students to the fundamentals of astronomy concepts through readings in Black Studies.” Yes, really:
Conventional wisdom would have it that the “black” in black holes has nothing to do with race. Surely there can be no connection between the cosmos and the idea of racial blackness. Can there? Contemporary Black Studies theorists, artists, fiction writers implicitly and explicitly posit just such a connection.
And there we have it, friends, proof there is absolutely nothing the Left can’t find racism in or define through the narrow prism of race.
In Astro 20434, Cornell astronomy professor Nicholas Battaglia and comparative literature professor Parisa Vaziri challenge that so-called conventional wisdom not through the latest scientifically sound astronomy textbooks, but through the works of black racial “theorists like Michelle Wright and Denise Ferreira da Silva; authors like Octavia Butler and Nalo Hopkinson; [and] music by Sun Ra, Outkast, and Janelle Monáe.”
According to Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute, these black racialists, like Wright, are the wokest of the woke:
Emory University English professor Michelle Wright’s book, The Physics of Blackness: Beyond the Middle Passage Epistemology, invokes “Newton’s laws of motion and gravity” and “theoretical particle physics” to “subvert racist assumptions about Blackness.”

Physics is racist!.............
Space itself - the hard black should trigger these precious little snowflakes right and proper.
“ Black studies theorists…”
How is that even a thing?
Black Holes and White Dwarfs.
And Singularities are in direct conflict with the Collective.
The Individual is Dead!
Long Live the Revolution!
At this point the Woke should be laughing stocks, but, nooooo, they are still taken seriously.
I was listening to Todd Herman last Friday when during one of the “news” breaks some faceless talking head reported about the crazy Emory professor’s book about this subject matter. It amazes me how the left marginalizes themselves with a straight face. They’re doing it now with the Republicans want to defund the police lead balloon the ridiculous White House press secretary tried to fly yesterday or the day before.
If you control the language you can control the people.
Can’t call em black holes, they definitely aren’t white holes so we should probably call the azz holes since everyone has one.
Hey lefty lurkers out there. If we're to get rid of all color labels for fear of appearing racist, then what homogeneous color should we settle on? The standard "sell my house" off-white interior? Nope, already sounds racist. Maybe a nice southwest mocha? All you woke lefies - you do realize the rest of the world, that would be the sane world, is laughing at you. Not with you, not behind your back. At you, to your face. You are a joke.
I am starting to push the fact that snow is racist because it is always white. Maybe that way it will be banned from ever falling where I live again.
Let’s face it: EVERYTHING IS RACIST to those knotheads.
You are not wrong in your assumptions. The Left is applying “racial” standards to astrophysical phenomenon in the same way many people apply human characteristics to the behavior of their pets or even animals in the wild. Nothing can simply be “black” or “white” as a descriptor. It has to be about something else entirely.
Thanks Red Badger.
We just knew this was coming sooner or later..................
Odd.
Leftists insist that skin color offers an unfair advantage and/or privilege.
Yet biological men playing in women’s sports is quite fair.
