A divided Supreme Court on Tuesday denied a request to block a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention order that prohibits landlords nationwide from evicting certain tenants who fail to pay rent amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The court's order means the moratorium will remain in place until July 31.
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh joined with the court's three liberals to keep the moratorium in place. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett said they would have granted the request.

Its a joke that congress allow unelected people from various agencies create regulations that have the force of law. Screw each and every one if them.
So the CDCs proclamations carry the authority of law now?

They need to find specific sentences in the text of the Constitution that shows that the Founding Fathers wanted the federal government exercise control over private rental property and the eviction of tenants.

The fact that Roberts and Kavanaugh are both pussies that care deeply what the DC and MSM crowd think of them is going to be an ongoing problem.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this is the exact lineup to preserve Roe. Assuming Breyer hasn’t retired by then. In that case, just swap a black female judge with a hyphenated name in his place.

Some commentator said today there is no “pandemic” in the USA under the broadest definition from last year. Not here.
So who is coping with the emergency if there is no emergency?
If Kavanagh, who’s nomination would have been pulled by any other Republican, and Amy Barrett are the best Trump could find, our judicial system is done.
I thought this was already found that the CDC could NOT enforce the moratorium - if the SC rejected hearing the case that should stand.
They’ve become Family court.
We no longer have property rights. I think that is the last step across the Rubicon. They have the whole of government, media, military and the courts. The speed of our decay will only accelerate from here.
