Scientific American found itself taking heat this month after the scholarly, 176-year-old magazine published an opinion piece titled “Health Care Workers Call for Support of Palestinians.”
The screechy diatribe accused Israel of “vaccine apartheid” and “war crimes” among other alleged abuses. The piece blasted “Israeli settler colonial rule” and called on US healthcare and academic institutions to condemn “long-standing oppression” against the Palestinians and adopt the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions campaign against the country.
The piece was written by Harvard University research fellows Osaid H. K. Alser and Asmaa Rimawi; Seattle Children’s Hospital Dr. Sabreen Akhter; Mayo Clinic Dr. Nusheen Ameenuddin, Harvard med students Anand Chukka and Qaali Hussein; Arizona trauma surgeon Ariän El-Taher; and Bryan Leyva, an “AfroLatinx Scholar-Activist from the “Dakota Territory.”

SA was always pretty much a Popular Science mag rather than a scholarly journal.
For decades now it has become a Woke Joke.

At least they have dropped the façade of having anything to do with science.

“SA was always pretty much a Popular Science mag rather than a scholarly journal.”
Yes. It was never a scholarly journal. It did have experts in their field write at a high level for a popular audience.
“For decades now it has become a Woke Joke.”
Yes. It has been decades.
I guess they may every once in a while publish a good article but I don’t look at it ever anymore to know.
The covers indicate it’s pop-sci hipster interest crap mostly.

It’s about the money; they’re otherwise NOT even sorry.
They used to be OK; liked their sections on mathematics. Back in the late 1980’s they even published an article conveying some research suggesting that ozone alarmism might be ill-founded because comparatively massive chlorofluorocarbon molecules like Freon could not diffuse into the upper atmosphere in anything like the concentrations necessary to wreak the damage alleged.
By the time Algore came along though, their descent into the sociopolitical abyss of global warming was already underway, and they had become a nearly unreadable puppy training tool.

I didn't see the original article. Did they accuse Israel of not vaccinating Israeli citizens who are Arabs? Arabs in the regions captured during the Wars of Arab Aggression? Or were the authors crying about the "Palestinian" self-misgoverned areas in Gaza and the West Bank where according to the Oslo Accord the local Arabs took control of health care - probably so they could load car bombs up with hypodermic needles.

I sometimes think, no matter how intelligent or well-educated an Arab is, the illogical anti-Semitism and Jew hatred is just a millimeter below the surface.
Shame on Scientific American.

The screechy diatribe accused Israel of “vaccine apartheid” and “war crimes” among other alleged abuses. Gosh, why wasn't the PA doing its own vaccine distribution program?!

A big part of the “Palestinain” propaganda machine has been for 40 years getting people into academic positions for the sole purpose of using those professional publications and conferences to present fabrications about Israel. They write textbooks about the middle east and get them published because publishers are happy to publish and sell books. Everyone should look closely at who is writing this garbage. They do it under cover of academe.
