A school board meeting in Loudoun County, Virginia, was shut down by law enforcement over Critical Race Theory (CRT). Anti-CRT protestors flooded the hall, making their opposition crystal clear to board members who evidently were shaken to their core. This public meeting was quickly declared an unlawful assembly, and yes, arrests were made. It's insanity. If board members can't handle the heat, then they are the ones who should vacate the premises and nix this pseudo-intellectual garbage that is CRT from the county's curriculum. More and more parents are not having any of this white liberal nonsense in our schools. It cannot be educational if there's no evidence to back it up; CRT is the classic case of satisfying one's own feelings of anti-whiteness and moral superiority. That's the woke Left in a nutshell. It's historical fiction they're trying to pass off as legitimate. It's academic fraud.
Gabriella Borter of Reuters documented the mayhem. There was a rally before the meeting. There were counter-protestors showing support for CRT. She captured the moment the police arrested one of the attendees.

More chaos the better.
It’s a good argument for continuing the lockdown practice of online schooling.

Isn’t Loudoun County one of those wealthy liberal suburban counties of Washington? Meaning that the people there are NOT the stereotypical uneducated rubes which the MSNBC crowd likes to portray as opposing “good” liberal initiatives such as critical race theory?
If so, then you had people who were otherwise generally liberal, for whom this critical race theory business is a bridge too far.
Better stop it now before any funding starts and then they’ll never stop the horseshit. People will be making money on it will become “systemic.”
It’s good to parents are starting to push back on anti-American agendas like CRT.
Decades ago, the Left started moving into Education. The Normal people shrugged and said that diversity of thought was not so bad. The old “I disagree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it”. And, over time, the Left achieved near 100% dominance in education.
Now we see the problem.
Now we want to get involved, and protest, and push back, and make the Education system more in line with Normal views.
But it’s too late. They have the police to back them up. They will shout us down, lock us up, and extinguish our views. They don’t want diverse ideas, and they do not recognize our right to have our own thoughts.
We don’t get out of this problem easily.
The Ministry of Education wants no interference to their indoctrination.
Like Jesus asked the lifelong sick man, “Do you want to get well?”
The worst thing that can happen to a permanent victim class is to get what they ask for. In comes full responsibility and “PUT UP OR SHUT UP! Show us all how it’s done!” They are just empty talkers and deceivers.
You are way behind the curve, BEJ. Funding of this crap started long ago. There are published books and curricula materials. Teachers have been trained on it.
You would be correct in your analysis .... it’s a bridge too far even for “Lib Land”.
Crowd committed a clear error. Words only. If they’d brought some black masks, some bats, some brass knuckles, and if they’d thrown some chairs through the windows, they’d probably have been left alone.
It has a mix, but even dems don’t want their kids hearing this crap....they want a good basic education. These school board protest are getting big in the
phoenix area, too.
At 32 miles from Loudoun County Seat of Leesburg to DC, you are correct. Part of the expansive Washington–Arlington–Alexandria, DC–VA–MD–WV Metropolitan Statistical Area with a local median household income of $136,268.
I watched one of the Loudoun meetings and one guy mentioned people having been bused it. BLM of course.
When people here in my lib-central county also start acting up against this crud (we get self-righteous presumptive emails from the super on anything PC…last week for “Juneteenth”), then I’ll really believe it.
I’d like more libs to stand up against this. I will say this…we had some very vocal people here lobbying for re-opening the schools from this COVID crud.
25 years ago, my sister and brother in law were Professors at Berkley. I was just starting college and would visit occasionally. They would have dinner parties and they and their other Professor friends were talking about a take over of all education, then to bring Marxism to the culture. Well, I’m shocked but they have accomplished their mission. We stiff have a chance to save America. Go to these school board meetings and say your piece....run for school board.
We don’t get out of this problem easily.
Absolutely agreed. Mayyybe there's time to dig back out but it would take a lot of time and those in power are not on our side.
Having trouble understanding where the superintendent has the authority to tell the cops/sheriffs what to do.
Sad thing is the cops dutifully obey. It’s no wonder more and more folks are beginning to hate them. Me included.
Hopefully, by now some of these folks have seen the Brit, in Pennsylvania, and are contacting attorneys to sue the pants off the school and the cops.
