House conservatives successfully derailed two bills that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi attempted to fast-track through the lower chamber of the U.S. Congress on Tuesday evening, a victory the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus told Breitbart News was “stunning.”
“That’s stunning,” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), the House Freedom Caucus chairman, said in a phone interview on Wednesday.

LGBTQ Business Equal Credit Enforcement and Investment Act, would have allowed for LGBTQ-owned businesses to get favoritism in lending in much the same way minority-owned businesses may.
Equal Access to Contraception for Veterans Act, would have facilitated government-funded access to abortion drugs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
About time, but I bet the establishment is not happy at all. They always are a bunch of wimps that roll over for the Democrats.
Minority, female and gay. Orange man bad = white man bad.
What I read one would add lgbt to preferred lending as is already done for minorities under the guise of providing equal access. The other was about abortion pills and the VA.
I remember well around 6 yrs ago here on FR, many freepers trashed The House Freedom Caucus and its members. The reason escapes me.
I’d be curious to know if Omar voted against it. Islamists generally don’t like the alphabet groups.
More to the point - why did Pelosi seek to pass these two bills in this manner?
Given the likelyhood, nay certainty, of defeat due to the 2/3 requirement?
Must be for an election / base motivation issue.
