Seattle woman claims ‘ideological conformity’ required for waterfront job
MyNorthWest.com ^ | 6/8/21 | BY DORI MONSON SHOW

When you visit Seattle’s new waterfront, you are going to be reminded that you’re on stolen land. One of the things that inspired a recent story by Fox News’ Dan Springer about the city’s waterfront was a piece by Elizabeth Economou for American Thinker, titled “Only the woke need apply,” in which she describes her experience applying for a job.

Economou told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson Show she applied for a public relations job with the organization that’s running things down the waterfront: Friends of Waterfront Seattle. She says she received a formal invite from a recruiter inviting her to apply to an open position.

“So I clicked onto the link and I was really struck by how brazenly ideological the job description was,” she said. “And upon reading it, I sent her an email, I said, ‘Could you please provide examples of embedded systemic racism?'”

Part of the job description reads: “Friends of Waterfront Seattle acknowledges that historical and existing systemic racism is embedded in our city.”

“I also wanted [the recruiter] to know that I am first generation Greek American, and I’ve lived in Seattle on and off for decades and I have not seen this play out,” Economou said. “So my parents are immigrants, without college degrees. They came here legally, albeit independently.”

It’s one step from that to vaccine passports.

If it's stolen, black homeless aren't allowed to shamble aimlessly around either. The white and black (and Greek) devils need to be driven off off Chief Seattle's land!

Then, his heirs can have a potlatch and gift the city to China - with a hefty handling fee for the socialists on the City Council who arranged the transfer. :)

Haida indians were also cannibals. It’s a shame white man came and interrupted that.

Seattle was mentioned - and quickly discarded.

My family went on vacation there 15 years ago. It was outstanding with the waterfront, museums, ferry rides, aquarium and food. Nearby we visited the Boeing museum which is comparable to the Air and Space Museum in DC. For the heck of it, we drove through Redmond/Microsoft. If you didn't know, you would think it was a university.

A trip to nearby Victoria in British Columbia was certainly worthwhile and included a whale watching expedition with Orcas diving under the boat.

I'm so glad to have gone before it went to hell.

As an almost 50 year resident of the Soviet of Washington, I thank you for striking Seattle off your vacation list. I too abandoned Seattle in 1983 when the violent street urchins from Castro’s Mariel Boatlift started taking over the downtown area. Before then Seattle was the funniest, quirky little big town I had ever visited. I didn’t think at the time that I would end up living my entire adult life here behind the blue curtain.

I now live on the Pacific Coast a 3 hour drive away from the degenerate city. It’s a fantastic place. Our county is deep red. Trump and most all Republicans won by at least a 3-1 margin.

Our problem lies with the fact, as the late Senator Warren Magnuson said back in the early’70’s and is true today, “all the votes needed to win a statewide election can be seen from the observation deck of the Seattle Space Needle.”

What we and other states need that are dominated by big city communists is some type of electoral college system that doesn’t allow big urban areas to set statewide agendas especially out here in these massive western states.

As far as vacations go, you will never find a more beautiful place than the American Western Coast line. From the Canadian border all the way to Southern California it’s a remarkable place. In Washington and Oregon the coastal communities are not filthy liberal 💩holes, and still should be considered when thinking about vacations. Just remember when landing in either SeaTac or Portland, to head west as soon as you can get into a rental car.

Comb your hair

Your underwear

Seattle is no longer America

Seattle is the place where tent dwelling squatters have taken over the city and where businesses are boarded up and closed after riots

Sadly, you are still oppressed by the tyrannical state laws, even though you live in a red county. States are the fundamental buliding blocks of the nation. I used to live a top 10 conservative county in California. That did me no good since I was still oppressed by the communists statewide laws. Yes, Washington still has all kinds of conservative areas, but it does you no good when you are still oppressed by the socialist state laws.

“What we and other states need that are dominated by big city communists is some type of electoral college system...”

And at one time you had it. Most state senate seats were based on geography, not population. SCOTUS struck that down as unconstitutional (even though it was based on the model provided by the Constitution’s establishment of the Senate). One man; one vote was the justification.

Much depends on either who owns the website and/or who is managing it at that time. Maybe they’ll change managers a year or two down the line. Policy/protocol changes seem to happen quickly for certain online news or social media sites. Think of what Parler has gone through over the last year.
I honestly don’t know what to expect from them now.

I definitely hear what you’re saying.

Years ago a guy named Stefan Sharkansky launched a site called soundpolitics.com to chronicle the theft of the 2004 Washington state gubernatorial race. Right-minded people, desperate for a conservative voice in the local media flocked to his site and it was soon the #1 source for politics in the state (actually in all of Washington state).

That kind of prominence comes at a price and it wasn’t long before the leftist zombies beset the site. Sharkansky attempted to provide an open platform for discussion but the zombies were interested only in disruption and ultimately Stefan shuttered the doors.

MyNorthwest emerged in the wake of Sound Politics’ departure with a “baked-in” audience. All they had to do was provide content. They did (sort of) but fell victim to the same leftist swarm.

(Why is it that conservatives rarely ever stand their ground?!)

What remains of MyNorthwest is the Melba Toast of journalism. They actually have some good producers there but they rarely deliver.
