The righter is equating the use of the term homosexual was the first time that homosexuality was condemned in the Bible.

The righter is full of sh*t and is only trying to lead weak people astray. We are all sinners before God and are only saved by Jesus Christ. Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. She was not condemned by Jesus but saved from certain death. Jesus did NOT tell her that he is okay with her sin, it is not really hurting anyone, that she was born this way, and He knows she loves Him so it is okay! He did tell her to go and sin no more.

The sinner is not condemned but the behavior is. Heaven is not a club but a place where only a few will be redeemed.

King James did not write or translate to the King James version. I believe King James the 5th authorized (paid for) 20 or so linguists to make the translation.

This movie, though, apparently makes the claim that the RSV editors coined the word “homosexual” and mistranslated the Bible in doing so, and as a consequence, mistakenly condemned homosexual acts and relationships.

It seems the movie is meant to create a false narrative that will have an influence on those exposed to it, especially those who know little about the Bible and the history of the word “homosexual.”

Yes, sadly, that’s for sure. It’s one of many similar hit pieces that are done all the time on either Christianity’s teachings on homosexuality, or Christianity itself.

Again and again, you see the argument made, for example, that Christians selectively choose to retain some sins from the Old Testament while “eating shellfish” and “wearing clothing of mixed fibers.” The people making these arguments usually seem to be very capable of reading and understanding what’s plainly there in Scripture, that God prohibited some things for the Israelites simply as a means to separate them from other nations. At one point, God tells them over and over that certain animals will be “unclean UNTO YOU,” and says He’s making these distinctions to separate them from other peoples for Himself. It’s difficult to miss the meaning, yet despite clearly being false, this “hypocrisy” charge against Christians continues to be made. And apparently many people are hearing it for the first time and coming to believe it all the time.
