China braces for another dangerous flood season with 97 rivers already exceeding warning levels as of Thursday, according to Chinese state Global Times. Major floods are expected this summer, and Western media will soon be drumming up headlines about how confidence in China’s flood control capabilities is faltering.
Water levels along the Yangtze River are expected to increase over the next week, the Ministry of Water Resources said, adding that major floods are possible throughout the country from June to August.

Wang Wei, an official with the flood and drought disaster prevention office of the Ministry of Water Resources, told state broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) that total flood control capacity is approximately 69.5 billion cubic meters – most of the reservoirs have been discharged to full levels. He said the water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir is about 150.83 meters as of Wednesday and will decline through June 10.
Sun Chunpeng, director of the hydrological information and forecast center under the water resources ministry, told CCTV rivers of southern China are experiencing record-high levels. More precipitation is expected in the weeks ahead and could push river levels to even higher dangerous levels.
The country’s largest freshwater lake, called Poyang Lake, located in Jiangxi Province, could have water above warning levels by the end of the week.
“This year’s rainy season has come earlier than usual, but it is still within the normal range. Last year, China recorded record heavy rainfall, so the chance of this year being the same is low, but extreme weather is unpredictable due to the impact of global warming,” Cheng Xiaotao, the former head for the Institute of Flood Control and Disaster Reduction, with the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, told the Global Times.

I’ve read that the Three Gorges Dam has actually changed the weather patterns in China..................
Drought = Global Climate Change
Flooding = Global Climate Change
If the dam collapses, the event will be the catastrophic event used to propel the “climate emergency” propaganda to further justify draconian reductions in global and domestic co2 emissions and further enslave us.
They’re trying to move the narrative from glow bull warming, to climate change and now up is “climate emergency” to accelerate the slave state and depopulate the planet. The awakening of the masses has made them realize that their time is short. Seems I read that notion in some old manuscripts somewhere.
The predictive programming is obvious in this article.
“Never let a crisis go to waste”
More than that:
Western Americans are sobbing at seeing all the water flowing to the ocean. Can’t we send it here?
Well, that explains why the says seem longer now.........................
Didn’t the Three Gorges Dam deform last summer due to flooding? Not sure this is a good thing.
No
That was all hype to sell ads
The dam performed as designed to control flooding down stream
I monitored reports every day and the hydrologists controlled the flooding by opening and closing the flow through 111 dams and by breeching the levees protecting the vast flood plains
They could not stop the flood but did manage it.
The problem, like in America, aggressive real estate sellers sold new buildings on the flood plain. Those structures are still at risk this year
Chinese Communist Party Made Disaster
Keep in mind that many parts of China are experiencing a drought - like the southern highlands and the northeast.
China is a big country and no weather pattern covers it all.
Yes, those stats can be deceiving, like this one below:
I remind people that the island of Java has a larger population (147.6 million) than the largest country in the world, Russia.(143 million)
BTW, Java can support that size population because they have two monsoons each year.
(Even so, they're still poor and over crowded)
Careful, I thought you were talking about Kamala for a moment.
If a portion collapses you might have erosion on either edge of the breach.
