For the fourth time in as many years, authorities in Cleveland on Wednesday held a news conference to announce the arrests of more than two dozen men accused of trying to meet up for sex with undercover agents posing as teenagers on social media apps.
The tale is so familiar that Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force dubbed the four-day sting that that took place this past week “Operation Deja Vu.”
“We could do this day in and day out and we would see the same results every time,” ICAC Commander Dave Frattare said at the conference. “Despite all of our press and all of our outreach efforts, we’re ahoga County Sheriff Christopher Viland announced thatnot seeing this type of activity abate.”
Frattare, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley, Newburg Heights Police Chief John Majoy and Cuy 31 men, ranging in age from 20 to 80 years old, were arrested when they showed up to the meeting place and charged with attempted sexual conduct with a minor, importuning...
The 31 arrests bring the total number of arrests during similar stings in each of the last four years to 108. Police arrested 22 men during a 2018 sting over Memorial Day weekend, 28 men during a sting ahead of the 2019 MLB All-Star Game and 27 men during last year’s Operation Moving Target.
“If these type of operations were engaged in weekly, there would be no doubt in my mind we would have arrests every weekend,” O’Malley said....
Frattare also said the coronavirus pandemic that forced many children and adults into their homes for much of the last year brought with it a 40 percent increase in the number of tips submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

But on the other hand, Fed.gov has so many employees and LEOs that I suspect a large portion of hucksters on line are probably cops, many supposed drug and gun sellers are DEA or ATF and many so-called protestors on the street are FBI.
In many cultures, sex between teens and adults is not unlawful as long as it is consensual. In many countries, the age of consent is as low as 12 years. It’s now estimated there are approximately 184 foreign languages spoken within the United States. We are not the homogeneous nation we used to be. I’d be interested to see the names of those arrested. Bet there’d be some we couldn’t even pronounce.

And that 80 year-old...how many times has he gotten away with this until now? Lock them up or at least get them all on sex offenders lists permanently.
