Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough reacted to reporting saying New York prosecutors have assembled a special grand jury to consider evidence in a criminal probe into former President Donald Trump’s business dealings.
Scarborough echoed what he had heard from people in the legal field around New York, which is that unless there is an open and shut case, “you just don’t put a former president on the stand unless you have an open and shut case.” Because of that, the former GOP congressman said not to expect to see Trump on the stand.

Joe should be on the stand for head stomping Lori Klausutis and covering it up with a fixer medical examiner.
I always had that in mind when I'd burst out laughing after seeing some loser on MSNBC breathlessly reporting about some kind of "evidence of a crime" that showed up on Trump's tax returns from 15+ years ago.
Anyone who thinks a DA in New York has evidence to support that kind of prosecution is probably delusional.
Don’t forget, that current squatter also named Joe in our White House deserves to be on the stand—if for no other reason that he actually admitted to having a political fraud organization!!!
The media, hollywood, major sports figures and the rest of the morons that "average americans" listen to will breathlessly state ad nauseam that Trump would then be an indicted, twice impeached president.
They're hoping to paint the picture that Trump is so corrupt that public pressure keeps him from running again.
Any indictment would just be added to the massive pile of corrupt/fraudulent attempts to take him down.
They are terrified of him making a comeback.
Convicting on any charges though is a very steep climb.
Vance may get his "ham sandwich" indictment but as the democRATS found out when Trump was in office, convicting him of Russian Collusion or either of their phony impeachment schemes, was an impossibility. Just made Trump more popular.
And Vance needs to stay away from Lettia James in this whole affair. She has tainted her objectivity by campaigning against Trump himself and that may have ruined her chances of ever getting him on anything.
This will all go nowhere as both prosecutors will find out the hard way. Trump is no just going to lay down and let them convict him.
I agree that normally you would not see a president on the witness stand without an open and shut case. But they have such a hatred in their hearts against the past president, that precedents will not apply and they will use every trick in the trade to get him in court.
Someone need tell Joe that the prosecution cannot put a defendant on the stand.
