MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — More than 200 officers have left the Minneapolis Police Department, or have gone on extended leave, since the murder of George Floyd.
The police union says an overwhelming number cited a lack of support, and felt left to fend for themselves during the riots.

Let the white liberals fear the monster they have created. At this point many of them cannot leave because their property values are falling.
So when you ask why police are leaving, pick any of the above.
I almost feel sorry for police officers in Minneapolis who cannot leave as they are just a few years short of retirement.
They can protect themselves - respond to calls slowly, wait for back-up, don't get out of their cars, use maximum sick-days, etc..
Its the average citizens who are being sacrificed for this puposeful political/media agitation.
Very glad he found a new job “home” where he’s appreciated. Good cops, & he appears to be, are needed & wanted in many places.
BTW, if you’re interested in an excellent podcast where police recount some of their most ‘impactful’ cases, Small Town Dicks is excellent. Some of the cases/situations & what cops/detectives have to deal with (& live with in the aftermath), are hard to forget once you’ve heard them recounted on the podcast by the people involved.
Counties with non-urban/crowded populations all over the country pose less danger to police and are experiencing labor shortages in all positions including police.
Those areas pose less danger to citizens as well, and citizens are figuring that out.
The Pacific Northwest is awash with Seattle and Portland cops looking for jobs. Local governments are saving a bundle on training costs!
Wonder what town in IA got him ?
And go sick with the slightest of injuries. If the department demands you return to work, hire a lawyer.

That may very well be true. But it is the average citizens who I care least about. The average citizens are likely the same morons who voted for city officials who promote and support BLM and antifa. It’s the average citizens who get what they deserve in Minneapolis.
I’ve often said this: A city deserves the police officers that “serve and protect them”. If the cops in your city are bad, then you live in a bad city.
Thought I read somewhere 800 cops in Minneapolis. So 25%?

They buttered their bread, they can sleep in it.
I wish I could outlaw these idiot websites with videos that keep popping up. If we don’t watch the one in the center of the screen why do they make a another one pop up on the right side of the screen?
I spend a great deal of my time on the internet due to my job ( all of my suppliers have gone to web-based catalogs) and I am absolutely getting sick of the irritating programming on 98% of the websites that I have to go to.
Especially pop-up videos and non-stop slideshows and carousels.
Good rant. I know it’s not the same thing, but my tagline used to be “Three most annoying words on the Internet - watch the video”. GGGGRRRR
FIDO...
I never sleep in buttered bread.
The “Second City Cop” blog called this “going fetal”. This officer recommended these actions to all officers that were not being supported by their political masters. It’s happening in a lot of places, but the media don’t want to report it.
What's happening in police departments occurred with public education teachers three decades ago where the only open jobs were in the worst districts. New teachers had no choice but to take them or walk away. Most new teachers didn't last two years.
YesScript addon/extension will block those things. Use it in conjunction with uBlock Origin ad blocker. Be aware though that you can lose basic functionality of some websites because they rely on javascript to function. For instance, I have to turn off all blocking extensions to use our bank’s website, otherwise the page won’t even load, just a blank white screen.
