Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has called for a new carbon tax in a recent social media post, just days after announcing that Tesla would no longer be accepting Bitcoin as payment due to environmental concerns.

Breitbart News recently reported that Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated in a tweet that the company has “suspended vehicle purchases using Bitcoin,” out of worries related to the “rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for Bitcoin mining.

Artificially pushing the prices up for his competitors to his own company’s benefit. Making a deal with the devil is risky business.

A carbon tax is a consumption tax. And it will be included in the price of just about everything that had energy input from the combustion of hydrocarbons. Therefore it also becomes a hidden tax, just the cost of doing business.

The world is going to rely on carbon-based fuels for perhaps centuries yet to come, no matter how many “modern” sources of energy are brought online. These fuels are compact, rather easy to store and transport, and in most cases, the most economically feasible of all the energy sources available. There are no hydrogen mines or hydrogen wells, anywhere, accessible on earth. There is no easily captured electrical energy just lying about on the landscape, and mostly, it cannot be stored anyway. Wind and solar power are too erratic to be relied upon except in the most narrow of applications, when it is economically infeasible to get electric power any other way.

Wealth, real wealth, is generated by conversion of stored energy in some form into real, useful work to make things and power the industrial, commercial and domestic segments of the economy cheaply and generously.

Elon can be brilliant in some things.
A total stupid idiot in other things.
Climate stuff is in his “idiot” class.
But then again, it’s in the “idiot” class for a good many of our current (gubmit supported) climate ‘researchers’.
And ALL of our media/Democrat/woke crowd.

In some ways Musk is very bright.

In others he is close to an idiot.

Mr. Musk, is the “danger” of “climate change” great enough to justify the prompt importation of low-cost Chinese electric cars?

From Ending Fossil Fuel Subsidies Won't End Fossil Fuels

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) pegs US fossil fuel subsidies at $649 billion, a figure that is widely cited in the media. But the vast majority of what the IMF describes as “subsidies” is unpriced pollution and greenhouse emissions, not direct payments or credits from the government.

There are very few heros left in this world. Elon Musk has been one of mine. It saddens me to hear that he has said this. Maybe it was misquoted or taken out of context.
Elon Musk is administering the largest taxpayer funded Ponzi scheme ever imagined. Except using endless taxpayer money there is no (Ponzi) pyramid to worry about.

As soon as the real automakers, the ones who know how to produce cars with fit and finish quality at competitive prices, he'll be sucking hind tit.
