Government overreach ping.

50+ years ago, when as a young Airman and a smoker, I would never even bum a menthol. (I preferred Marlboros, Winstons, and Camels.) Shortly after returning to civvie life, I was able to quit for good. That was 1971, 50 years ago.
Since menthol cigs are more addictive, I wonder if I would have been as successful if I were hooked on those.

First they came for the mentholated. Can grape soda be next?

No more “a 40 of the Bull and a pack of what I am.” Very sad.

A future black market product.
Now, instead of getting busted for weed, they’ll get busted for Kools.

Menthol cigarettes are already banned in Massachusetts. The last time I was in the city some guy was standing out in front of Home Depot saying "Kools ... Kools." I guess he had bought a few packs/cartons in New Hampshire or Rhode Island and was trying to sell them.
There's a big debate about whether banning menthol cigs is racist ... or not racist. For activists menthol cigarettes are themselves racist, but people who like them are going to be really p____d off. Some people can't live without them.
