Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin was convicted Tuesday of all counts against himin the killing of George Floyd, nearly one year after kneeling on Floyd’s neck in an incident that sparked global protests against police brutality.
After less than 24 hours of deliberations, the jury returned guilty verdicts against Chauvin, finding him guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of Floyd on May 25, 2020.

I really wish one of these legal talking heads would answer this question.
I don’t know anything about civilian criminal law, but I was a Marine Corps officer long enough to pick up more than a passing amount of knowledge on courts-martial. In the military, the jury is instructed to consider the lesser-included charges only after reaching a verdict on the more serious charge.
This verdict is bizarre, to me at least.

If I were a police officer just now, I would not feel secure in following department policy or ever laying a hand on anyone in the course of my duties. If someone should have a bad heart, and be so emotionally upset by contact with the police that he would have a heart attack, the officer would then be deemed to have been a substantial cause of the death.
I would begin tomorrow by seeking other employment. Why would anyone assume the risk when the governmental units which employ you do not support and back you 100%.
Defund the police? How about, we quit...use your social workers for those matters you still feel are crimes.

Honestly I don’t know much what to think about his actual guilt.
(I do ask how one can be CONVICTED with several parallel crimes, really only degree of difference. It seems like simultaneous double-/triple-jeapardy.)
My biggest concern is the MOBS and BLM and Anti-fa ruling everything. They’re a little sick in how much they “celebrate” this, waiting outside like a spider ready to strike. And then they’ll realize this doesn’t do much for THEM, and doesn’t for all those thousands of poor innocent black thugs killed every year by police because they’re black. They’ll be back to rioting just because.
Sure does— and is why every policeman come in contact with regardless, but mostly white— Thank them for keeping the PUBLIC ORDER and the Laws, and tell them have family in LE work. Thank them.
BTW your Roland Friesler comment may have gone over some heads here— The second I read it the sound of Friesler’s disgusting tirade and “outrage” at the testimony of Count Schwerin von Schwanenfeld, of the many murders he witnessed of Polish Christians and Jews in West Prussia, and that a memorial Cross will be erected in memory of the 1400 he witnessed. Don’t know if it was ever done. Friesler the weasel evil “judge” (who was at Wannsee Conference) died from an Allied bomb that blew him to pieces in Berlin.

I will agree there are no saints here. Should Chauvin had gotten off scott-free, I don’t know.
I do know the quality of cops has been drastically declining since the 70s, since Liberal politicians decided that Police Departments had to be less “neanderthal” (meaning, there’s too many white guys)
...cough... some of us out here have grown quite tired of seeing people attempt to play both sides of the fence... The whole thing was not a travesty... the Travesty started when a person of color resisted arrest.
