Indianapolis Police Chief Says Gunman Bought Weapons Legally

Brandon Hole, the 19-year-old who the police say fatally shot eight people at a FedEx facility on Thursday night, legally purchased two semiautomatic rifles he used in the attack more than six months earlier, according to the chief of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

In March of 2020, the police had seized a shotgun from Mr. Hole after his mother raised concerns about his mental state, records show. But, Chief Randal Taylor said, the fact that Mr. Hole was legally able to make the more recent gun purchases indicates that, despite his mother’s warning and the police seizure of a gun, the authorities had not deemed him subject to Indiana’s so-called “red flag” law, which bars people who are found by a judge to present dangerous risk from possessing a firearm.

Nevertheless, the Biden/Harris FBI knew about this guy and, for some strange reason (DUH, ???) didn't anything known (what about unknown???) about him.

The New York Slimes won’t rest until every gun, knife, and ice pick is confiscated from law-abiding citizens.

So the police have seen the 4473 he filled out and know he gave no false answers?

David Hogg is the “survivor” who fights against gun rights. And now this Brandon Hole is the poster child for taking guns away.

So now the government can go Hole-Hogg on the gun grabbing.

Indianapolis Police Chief Says Gunman Bought Weapons Legally

Just WHO is reviewing these so-called background checks? Could it be that our vaunted FBI can’t even do that right?

The vaunted “background check” was passed.

More laws would not have stopped this.

Indiana’s so-called “red flag” law, which bars people who are found by a judge to present dangerous risk from possessing a firearm.

Red flag laws are utter lunacy. Since when are leftist judges to be arbiters of who receives our God-given constitutional rights. Our rights do not come from government and should not be taken away by government. Our rights are based on natural law, not positive law. (Don't know the difference? Then look it up.) There is one case which people should lose some of their rights. It is after they commit a crime, have been found guilty and sent to prison. Once they do the time and pay their debt to society, they should have their full rights restored so they can be fully functional members of society.

Perhaps mommy should have set her Brony son straight when he was growing up or got him some professional help.

The problem wasn’t the lack of gun control, it was the lack of reporting and inaction of the FBI that is the problem. Hell, the kid was probably identified as being on the edge and pushed over it by the FBI.

"Hell, the kid was probably identified as being on the edge and pushed over it by the FBI." Exactly my view. Far too many of these evil subhumans have been on the FBI's radar and gone on to commit their atrocities for it not to have identified him as a likely mass murderer, just like Obola's Operation Fast and Furious.

About a year prior to this mass shooting, the perp’s mom galled the cops as he had a shotgun and was talking suicide. The cops came took away the shotgun and he was referred for psyc counseling. The cops put a temporary no gun order on him. Apparently, the temp order was not put into the NICS database which disqualifies someone on the background check.

More laws would not have stopped this.

I can think of several new laws the left will propose, none of them constitutional.

Waiting for the first "concerned citizen" to mention that so many shooters are "known to law enforcement" and raised "red flags" with relatives, friends, and neighbors. Why can't there be a law that their 2A rights be suspended more easily, without judge or trial, just by filling out a form at the local PD? For everyone's safety, of course. I'd feel so much more comfortable if I could have my neighbor's house searched and forms filled out on him to guarantee he'll never pass a background check. I feel safer already...

They won’t acknowledge Hole was a fruit cake because they’re still trying to pin the “white supremacist” tag on him. They won’t say the make and model of the rifles he used but they’re saying it was an “assault rifle”. And they won’t say what set him off. He may have been crazy but it takes a significant emotional event to cause something like that. Yes, there’s a lot they’re not telling us because they want to paint it in a different light.

There was a popular movie a few years ago with Tom Cruise called "Minority Report" set in the future. In short, a few kids with the ability to see what crimes "could" happen in the future were (stolen from their parents and) hooked up to a law enforcement computer network to stop "pre-crime." Everyone be loved it, so it seemed, until someone showed that the crimes didn't always happen AND the system wasn't as secure as people wanted. Oh, and that people could change and not commit the crimes the "precogs" forecast.

The simple reality is that in a relatively free country of 330MM people, bad things will happen. It's a cost of freedom. I'm not saying law enforcement should do their job. But I also don't want societal zeal for justice to destroy basic civil rights.

Science isn't math, and psychiatry is about nine rungs down the ladder from physics (which itself isn't infallible). But people seem to be all-too-willing to let the govt detain "crazy" people. So....who gets to define "Mentally Unstable"? Biden? Harris?

I don't want the govt detaining people based in their FR (or even DU for that matter) posts, or FB etc. Because the second we let the govt do that, we are in Mind Crime / Minority Report land. That is what I expect in North Korea or Germany, and the Founders didn't leave ANY inkling that our govt was empowered to do such a thing.

“Gunman Bought Weapons Legally” in the headline means every liberal will demand NO ONE can own a gun.

What good does that do a dead guy. I’m convinced that suicide was his desired outcome.
