A police officer in Virginia has been fired after pointing a gun at, and pepper spraying, a black US army lieutenant during a traffic stop.

Blacks have been an over represented demographic in the US Army for about 70 years now. Most are good people who came from lower incomes and wanted to make a life for themselves in a non-racist work environment, serve their country, or honorably climb out of poverty. Just FYI, the advice some police agencies and lawyers give for what to do when being pulled over is “place your hands on the wheel in plain sight and do NOT roll down the window or do anything else unless specifically instructed.” This is because of people that roll down the window ahead of time and then shoot the officer as they approach, through the lowered window but before the officer can see what’s going on in the cabin. This may be what he was doing.

One of my fav things on Youtube is cops arresting other cops on DUIs. A normal person would be cuffed, stuffed, and jailed immediately. They always hem and haw, and usually the drunk cop goes ‘can you give me a break?’. The answer is always ‘it’s not like the old days, we’re on camera now’. I can’t imagine (but have an idea, I have a friend whose dad was a Detroit cop in the 60s. Lots of instant street justice) how bad it got.
WTF over, he is in a 5000lbs weapon. All he had to do is flee and put lots of lives at risk. ALso, cops couldnt confirm he was active army until he started obeying their orders. People wear military uniforms and try to act like military all the time.....stolen valor idiots. His job is to do what local LEO say, even if unreasonable, and then show up with lawyers...not to argue on the streets. So, what should you do if cops have you at gunpoint and are issuing conflicting commands? If you do what one cop says, the other one will shoot you.
By that reasoning, you're rationalizing this behavior from LE. Park the car. Turn off the car. Are all heavy objects lying at rest now lethal weapons requiring that LE treat the humans within them as criminals?
I never said he shouldn't have argued, but his mannerism was not combative. He made it clear he did not feel safe. Any attempt to undo a seatbelt might've been seen as "reaching for a weapon," and we'd be talking about a dead LT, not one with pepper spray burns on his face.
Given the propensity of *some* cops to get a little extra zealous when conducting business, I can’t say I blame him.
And I heard conflicting commands. The Lt. was in no way threatening.

We have now reached the point where minorities feel they’re no longer obligated to follow the lawful instructions of police officers. No only is there no societal pressure to obey police officers, but instead, there’s societal pressure to NOT obey police officers.
The fabric that holds our society together is fraying and before not too long, chaos will envelope the country.
I’m almost certain that was factory tint. Those Chevys come with very dark factor tint, so dark that I noticed when I looked at one earlier this year on a dealer lot, that I was surprised it was legal.

"Black man , 6'2 wearing blue"......and of course they all turned white stepid "Sorry about that"..... ASP and Boone County AR got him at a roadblock while I had guns pointed at me.
Very Easy to survive police encounter when you are not under the influence, retarded, or hostile. Sometimes our best weapon is the grey matter between our ears.
When I grew up, if you disrespected a cop you got your head cracked, and then got your ass whooped by the old man when the cops drop you off at home. Any of these scenarios where there is a victim after clearly seeing and hearing the cops tell him to get out, I don’t give af about the “victim anymore...

So the man pulls his hands out of sight to obey “get out” and the “keep your hands in sight cop” shoots?? I would freeze too.The very act of pointing a gun says “I’m willing to kill you.” Not something to do OR be taken lightly.
Besides the police OUGHT to tell a person why they are being stopped. That used to be the normal thing.
Too many police act like everyone not a cop must be a criminal.(Of course with the truly ridiculous enormous number of laws I seriously expect everyone IS in violation of a dozen laws they’re not even aware of).
