Democrat Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) on Friday described Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) decision to take legal action against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and federal government — for leaving the cruise industry in a perpetual state of limbo — as a “craven political stunt.”

A HUGE fraction of the cruise ship industry operates out of ports in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Port Canaveral (near the Kennedy Space Center) in Florida. DeSantis wants that industry back on its feet as soon as possible.

I served during the Vietnam era. However,given that I was never ordered anywhere near Southeast Asia I would never in a million years claim that I had served there out of respect for those who actually did. But then I’ve never been a member of the Rat Party so I guess I have different ideas on certain things.
Go for it! The CDC should not control the cruise industry or the commerce of any state.
I have a friend who is a vocalist and works on the shows they do on the ships...he was working as a waiter I after the shutdown because he thought it would be temporary...and just when he thought they’d be sailing again in April, the CDC shut it down and said not until June.
Why? And how do they get this authority?
