Heritage Action Executive Director: MLB Has ‘Weaponized’ Baseball; ‘Maybe They Should Move to Beijing’

Heritage Action executive director Jessica Anderson, who has continually highlighted the left’s lies on Georgia’s election integrity law, slammed Major League Baseball after it announced it would pull the All-Star game and Draft from Atlanta over the law.

“It’s a shame the MLB has taken an American pastime and weaponized it against a majority of Americans who support common sense voting reforms. Maybe they should move to Beijing,” she remarked:

Democrats claim the law suppresses minority votes, but this, again, is false. Heritage Action explained the Georgia law “was silent on Sunday early voting days prior to SB 202, and in 2020 only 16 of 159 counties offered early voting on Sundays.” In reality, the law “explicitly provides the option of holding early voting on two Sundays for all localities,” thereby increasing mandatory days of early weekend voting.

Heritage Action also tackled the myth of Georgia “suppressing” votes with new voter ID requirements, noting the vast majority of registered voters, 97 percent, already have a valid form of identification and adding that one can be obtained for free.

Even the Atlanta Journal-Constitution issued a correction of its initial description of the election law this week:

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said the organization’s decision was “the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport”:

"Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box. In 2020, MLB became the first professional sports league to join the non-partisan Civic Alliance to help build a future in which everyone participates in shaping the United States. We proudly used our platform to encourage baseball fans and communities throughout our country to perform their civic duty and actively participate in the voting process. Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support."

It seems as though there is no end to the stupidity in any of the major league sports organizations. In the long run, that’s okay by me. I have much more time and money to spend on activities that I can really enjoy while being productive at the same time.

“the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport”

That's one way to describe useless virtue signaling. I used to love baseball but I don't remember ever going to see anyone's values. Play ball, dammit. Or don't, I no longer care.

MLB is going to regret this.

Many people see the sport as a long boring game.

Just at a time when the sport is struggling to stay above
water, they chose to insult every law abiding citizen who
loves this nation and wants to see honest elections.

Many of MLB’s fans are bedrock Conservatives.

Adios schmucks...

MLB and pro sports in general are operating under the faulty premise that they can get away with insulting their customers. Soon their greedy owners will be pleading for fans to come back and fill the ballparks and stadiums and buy their outrageously priced food and concessions.

The problem for them is wokeness doesn’t sell.

If they reach the end of June and arenas are averaging no more than 12k in attendance on a Saturday night...they’ve got a serious problem.

Fan to second fan: Don’t take the vendor’s chicken nuggets. They aren’t chicken.

The MLB should take the NBA with them and move to China... where their ‘values’ fit...

While it looks like virtue signaling, I don't think it is.

I think they are actually caving to pressure from the Woke Establishment instead of doing this of their own initiative.

"Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.

Dear MLB: Please describe in detail and enumerate the restrictions to the ballot box of which you speak.

Heritage, I remember them, they used to be an effective org for conservative causes until they were overrun with GOPe types. Anderson is correct, of course, but no one pays attention to Heritage anymore, including the GOP.

Actually, the official sport of China is NBA basketball - MLB is a day late and a dollar short. Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan love baseball, though, so maybe MLB should reconsider their political alignments.

“ Maybe they should move to Beijing,”

They might consider it...corporate America wants a fascist dictatorship every bit as much as our political class does.

Nobody is getting this. MLB does not see the fan with a butt in a seat as the future. They see virtual casinos that they own and partner with Fan Duel and Draft kings for the betting action. There will be local “entertainment” venues close in your area. If you can afford you can have VR on your home and bet action on your best hunches team loyalty be damned, all by subscriber only. MC is already working on the account structure. LOOK AT THE MLB PARTNERS ON THEIR WEBSITE. The along with the other pro sports only need a short period of time for Infrastructure to be made. they could give flying hoot what you think.
