Georgia House Votes To Strip Delta Of $35 Million Tax Credit For Flipping On Election Law Support

The Georgia state House passed an amendment Wednesday that would strip Delta Air Lines of a multimillion-dollar tax break after the company blasted the state’s new election laws.

Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed into law last week a bill overhauling his state’s election procedures designed to increase security and address issues that surrounded the 2020 election. Delta initially supported key measures of the legislation after it was signed, then backtracked days later amid calls for boycotts pushed by left-wing publications.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian said the new election law “does not match Delta’s values.” Republicans in the state House, angered by Bastian’s sudden flip on the election overhaul, hit back at the company by voting to strip it of a jet fuel tax break worth over $35 million a year, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Delta Airlines is not entitled to a special tax break they apparently have.

If this is just taking away a tax break, and puts them on a level with any other business, then I don’t see why this is a problem.

Get back to us when Delat goes neutral and quits joining the Left in their Cancel Culture games.

Then we can talk principles!

NICE! Try moving an airline hub that size to another state...not very easy - Delta has no leverage here. Delta wanted to play politics, now they’re ‘playing politics’. Hope they enjoy it!

Will Delta threaten to move the ATL hub somewhere else?

Yes! I used to love Delta and am a Gold Medallion...but GA legislature, go ahead and hit them where it hurts. I’ve already stopped flying the new, woke Delta.

“What about Delta’s free speech rights? This isn’t cancel culture, this is government explicitly trying to punish a private entity for their clearly legal speech.”

What’s the punishment? Did they fine Delta, or something, for their speech?

My take is the establishment Republicans went along with 2020 steal only in the case of Trump. I don’t even think they wanted it in the Georgia runoff, but by then the system was broke and they couldn’t stop a further steal then.

Just a speculation, not sure if true.

I think the establishment wants its stronghold, but doesn’t want Trump or Trumpers in the GOP.

All of these corporations hate honest elections.

Somebody somewhere, at the head of the NWO cabal told these evil CEO’s to double-down on progressivism, socialism, racial justice, and CRT.

Screw em’!

If the $35 million tax credit loss to Delta is enacted, Delta’s CEO should get full credit for that loss. Delta should take it out of his severance pay.
