Saturday has turned into the deadliest day since demonstrations against the Feb. 1 military coup began more than a month ago, and more than 400 people have been killed overall. A 13-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy were reportedly among at least 13 people killed in Myanmar's second most populous city, Mandalay, while another 13-year-old was reportedly killed in another village. Despite the violence, there was once again no sign of the movement abating.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said "the army seeks to join hands with the entire nation to safeguard democracy," but "violent acts that affect stability and security in order to make demands are inappropriate."

Child’s play.
Just wait until the Biden/Ho and media complex get started.
So less violent than a weekend in Chicago???
“Hello Myanmar, this is America calling.
“We’d like to place a to go order.”
(US army looks like just thugs hired to do swamp bidding worldwide)
Well done Myanmar army!
If you plan on protesting the government, do so at your own
risk and leave the children at home.
LEAVE THE CHILDREN AT HOME!
Ran into a Gen Z from Myanmar/ Burma last week.
She schooled me on what was going on there and on gain of function research that the Chinese are doing.
Kid was impressive. Guess she has great parents.
“...but “violent acts that affect stability and security in order to make demands are inappropriate.”
We know. Can we borrow some of your troops?
👍
The DemoNazis are taking notes.
Better believe it. The Democrat Party uses the same BS “saving Democracy” lie.
Sounds like the military government there is NOT about to buckle to Biden trying to overthrow them.
Or not too far off the chart....
I thought that would be Big Daddy’s USA executive orders say army aims to ‘safeguard democracy’ as security forces kill dozens of protesters.
Just about there.
What is with all the support here for the genocidal CCP-backed military junta? The military there is slaughtering people with Chinese CCP backing and support pouring in (a half dozen flights each night from China from what I hear).
When did FR become a pro-communist, anti-democracy website? The whole country there is against the military and their Chinese handlers, and instead of supporting the people half the posts I see here are supporting a totalitarian junta completely bereft of legitimacy and guilty of murdering, raping and maiming hundreds of thousands of its own citizens while plundering the land for cheap export to China.
Hi Major Matt,
You may not be fully informed or grab the full dynamics in Myanmar It is very complexed. China’s interest are to have a stable partner in “Burma”. Chinese need port access and there are many Chinese factories operate from there. Aung San Suu Kyi is Quasi Commie in same way you may consider Barack Obama a commie. She had the following of the Burmese left. Chinese would get there way with her 100%. Her relationship with Bejing is very strong. Hidden, but strong. This coup is not a positive for China. China would prefer Aung San Suu Kyi in power. They woukd get whatever they want. Now as a false political narrative the left in “Burma” aka Aung San Suu Kyi an followers are blaming China as a political matter. They have burned down tbeir factories etc...Kind of like Antifa burning down Kenosha and Minneapolis The Chinese wanted Aung San Suu Kyi to win. She was much easier to get what they want with her. This is similar to say China wanted Joe Biden to win. Anyway everybody benefits with a more stable Myanmar. The military there is protecting giving up their ports and treasures to China. While ironically Aung San Suu Kyi would have given China Carte Blanche. Note Aung San Suu Kyi is herself a Socialist Commie. So Major Matt respectfully....
Ooops apology my writing not meant fkr Major Matt, but instead DU supporter Ender Wiggin lol...Just having fun Ender sure you are not DU lol

Why? because no one here has had the situation explained clearly and succinctly in good English. The story presented makes the military seem like the good guys, and the shootings are seemingly justified - which is not the situation apparently. Then someone else here chimes in that the Military is the good guy. So it becomes confusing and distorted.
This approach leaves people free to chose the side and viewpoint they see reflected by the poor reporting.
That’s really insignificant in the scheme of things there, like applauding the Nazis because they kick a few communists out.
I’ve got a young Karen mother in Yangon on my staff whom I’ve barely heard from since the coup, and a friend (the greatest patriot for his people that I’ve even known) who served on their election commission. He’s the son of a Burmese general, but if they decide to keep playing this “election fraud” farce I’m concerned for his safety.
Some years ago a couple swindlers bilked a lady who operates an orphanage in Taungyi out of her orphanage property by tricking her into signing a power of attorney form while she was ill. They sold it for pennies on the dollar to a Chinese businessman. After an ensuing uproar he saved face by donating it to the government (I figure it’s a safe bet there were kickbacks and favors in return behind the scenes). The government said they would wait until she died to seize the property (lawsuits to return the property to her failed, this being Myanmar).
My organization raised the funds to build a new orphanage outside of town, but with the pandemic and now the military coup everything is at a standstill and permits are not being issued. And she’s 89 years old. Most of the kids with her are there because of the military slaughtering civilians - their parents - as they have for decades. So please, please, please, stop defending them over trivia like Soros.
