Members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps discussed attacking a US military base, according to the Associated Press. The Fort McNair Army base is a 10-minute drive from the White House and is located in the US capital. The National Security Agency intercepted the communications in January and they include discussions of using some kind of explosive-laden boat as was used in a 2000 attack in Yemen against the USS Cole.
“The intelligence also revealed threats to kill Gen. Joseph M. Martin and plans to infiltrate and surveil the base, according to the officials, who were not authorized to publicly discuss national security matters and spoke on condition of anonymity. The base, one of the oldest in the country, is Martin’s official residence,” the report says.

Iran and Venezuela have been laying groundwork for expanded military cooperation, which may include arms sales agreements. Venezuelan President Maduro *formed the Scientific and Technological Military Council in late October to make his country’s forces “more independent” with “advice and help” from China, Cuba, Iran, and Russia. Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif *visited Caracas in early November, likely to discuss economic and military ties with Venezuelan leaders.
The two countries have cooperated throughout 2020 to mitigate their economic crises and undermine US sanctions.

I’ve believed for a long time, that Iran and perhaps other terrorist organizations have hundreds if not thousands of operatives inside the USA that under the right conditions would engage in attacks and terror events to create chaos in the streets of America...
I doubt they would attack a Military Installation, but public places, transportation, electrical installations, etc...

That made me laugh, its so well put and true.
Surrender and bend over “boys and girls.” Its really sick too.
It would be simple to infiltrate the US. Over a couple of months, a few people crossing the borders or coming in from overseas would not be noticed. And then, you have a company strength of soldiers. You could outfit them with decent weapons—bought in the US. Put them in a uniform with IRRG insignia.
It would not be a group that could “win” a war, but they certainly could mount an assault on an installation anywhere in the US. They could bloody the nose of a small US Camp/Fort/AFB. Then surrender. As a uniformed entity, they would not be treated as terrorists, but rather Prisoners of War.
People in the US think we are immune to attack from outside. They have not thought this through very well. There are plenty of soft military targets that could not survive the sudden attack from well trained and cohesive small units.
Such an attack would cost less than the 9/11 attacks. And would result in a shock that would set the US Military on hits heels for a while.
Iranians are far from cowards. They fought a brutal eight year war with Iraq. Go back and read up on some of those battles. The US Army could not survive the onslaught without the people in the Pentagon shitting their pants.
Do not underestimate the enemy. That is how bad things happen.
While what you say is true....... Iran does not possess the will to attack directly. Iran never acts except through paid surrogates.
