Russia's ambassador to Washington has been recalled to Moscow for "consultations" to determine how to move forward with relations with the U.S., the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
Why it matters: The news came hours after an interview aired in which President Biden agreed that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a "killer" and pledged to hold the Kremlin accountable for interfering in the 2020 election.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova did not provide specific reasons for the recall of Ambassador Anatoly Antonov, but she said relations with the U.S. "are in a difficult state, which Washington has brought to a dead end in recent years."

Gotta give it to Democrats. They play the news-cycle game so much better than we do. Last night, even NBC & ABC News were forced to briefly cover the debacle at our southern border. The networks and national newspapers were practically were begging Biden for anything to turn the page. So, Biden gives it to them.
First, he gets his buddies at CIA to leak a BS story about even more ‘Russian interference,’ then he calls Putin a name and then Putin recalls our Ambassador. This is a win/win/win for Biden...and Putin.
I guess it’s easy to manipulate the media when they’re willing participants.
Biden is an idiot. By driving up the price of oil, you are putting billions into the Russian economy. They are borderline third world without oil profits. With oil profits, they can actually DO things.
